Would you do Ayton/Jalen/Carter for Gordon/Birch?
Then add a buyout big(McGee, Drummond, Dieng, Whiteside)
Paul, Payne, Moore
Booker, Nader, Galloway
Bridges, Johnson, Craig
Gordon, Crowder, Kaminsky
Saric, Birch, Buyout
Gordon is a more reliable 3rd option offensively. I think he’d be more efficient here. He’s got the skills to be a point-5 guy. And while we’d need to add size, Gordon is pretty good defensively. We could potentially close with him at the 5.
Probably need a 3rd team though as Ayton/Vuc doesn’t really work for Orlando.

Make it bigger and get Vuc along with it. I just don't feel good about starting Dario or using him for extended minutes.

I’m not sure we have the contracts to do that. Maybe as two separate trades with Saric/Crowder/Moore being moved for Vuc
Edit: nvm, works if you get rid of Birch

Absolutely not. Gordon is highly overrated right now. We turned down AG for Oubre last season.

Look at Ayton move in this clip. He glides. He’s so much more lumbering and lead-footed now.

I wouldn't trade Ayton for Aaron Gordon. No way. I like Gordon in general, and his 3-point shooting this year is pretty impressive (40%!), but I think the shooting is an aberration. He still shoots 62% from the free throw line, and outside of this season he has mostly been closer to 30% from 3. I don't think I trust him as an accurate shooter in our offense. I'm not sure he is a significant upgrade over the other guys we currently play at PF, and I'd rather have our current PFs + Ayton starting at the 5 than Gordon starting at the 4 and a big hole at center.

Ayton glides when he wants and is lumbering when he’s tired and lazy. He was gliding in the second half of the lakers game this weekend

That plot in your tweet is really interesting. We are one of the most "young and good" teams in the NBA.

My concern is that while we're young and have talent, we're reliant on a 35 year old Chris Paul. So in our case that chart is a little deceptive.

It is super interesting that no team that plays at an average age of 28 or above is not in contention for a championship this year.

It is weighted by how many minutes each person plays, so I don't think it is that deceptive.

Split, I think you’re in too much of a rush to deal Ayton. We are under no obligation to extend him this summer and can kick the can on this discussion for another year.
I know we want to maximize the CP window, but that means we should only trade DA for a package that definitely takes us up a level right now, even if it hurts our future. Nance & McGee, Jarrett Allen, Aaron Gordon - these are flawed role players who arguably make us worse in the present, which trumps any cap gains we net in 2 years.
John Collins + Capela for Ayton/Smith is interesting and probably the bar.
KAT is a yes for me, dawg.
