It seems pretty clear the Saric for Bazley trade was 100% about money. I’m not sure we have any interest in playing/developing Bazley. Maybe be can impress in practice but seems unlikely.
Wouldn't they have just waived him if it was only about the money?
They don’t save any money waiving him. Keep him around, maybe he surprises you, but they didn’t acquire him for anything other than to save money. Anything else Is just a bonus

Then waive him and fill the roster spot with a veteran.

They're in the luxury tax, so that would defeat the purpose of trading Saric in the first place.

Ya that adds more money…I also don’t think there’s anyone out there worth it. I’m not interested in John Wall or Goran Dragic

Aren't you forgetting someone? Rhymes with yellow.

Melo was more interesting before we got KD…I guess he’s fine if we don’t plan to use TJ at all

You can’t plan to use TJ at all. If he’s available it’s a nice surprise, it’s not something you plan on.

Bingo. He was never going to get any time here, especially at the most crowded position.
Yeah, Ish Wainwright and Torrey Craig are just too good.

Lol, I am not a fan of either of those 2, but they seem to like Craig and had every intention of extending Ish, Bazley never had a chance.

Dario with 21/8 tonight.

If Baz/TJ were simply salary ballast/throw-ins, then the trade should be looked at as Mikal/Cam/Jae/Dario + all the picks for KD straight up. That's a bit of a blow to our depth. Lucky for us Okogie turned into Superman overnight, otherwise that #5 spot would be a weak spot, for sure.

Well the Suns did try to throw in Saric in the Durant trade, but the Nets weren't having any of it. So the Suns probably quickly pivoted to whatever team could take on Dario's salary. They probably didn't even ask for Bazley; just gave OKC the salary parameters they were looking to take back. Not sure the front office knows any of the players on the OKC roster other than SGA.

Here’s how you know the national media is interested. The video quality is insane.

Hoping for a win on what would have been my dad’s 66th birthday. I’m excited!

(Also, happy Mando day to those who observe.)
