In financial terms yes, of you want to just call your roster as is, you sit him and deal with the players association killing you for doing so, not great for a team looking to big FA hunting in a couple of years. Its better to stretch him to get his stink off the roster and it allows you to make a lot more moves once you're under both aprons.

In order for that trade to work cap/salary-wise, wouldn't Kuminga need to be signed to a max or near-max amount?
