Much deserved, would be nice to see him here longterm but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
Re: Suns News: Week 12 (1/5 - 1/11)
I think their only options are guarantee it or cut him…they clearly aren’t cutting him.

The horrible O'Neale makes the list near the top:

Why the Suns look way better than anyone predicted

Podcasters, analysts and former NBA players predicted a down year for the Phoenix Suns, but this team is flipping the narrative fast. Dan Bickley and Vince Marotta break down why the Suns have exceeded expectations behind the play of Devin Booker and Dillon Brooks and the leadership from Mat Ishbia and Jordan Ott.
They dive into what’s really driving the Suns’ success this season: strong culture, high energy and consistent effort.

I’ve been wondering if Houston would’ve done the KD deal with Eason instead of the 10th pick…that’s what that chart makes me think of…we’d have 3 of the 4 best corner 3 shooters…they probably don’t though.

I bet they offered Portis (13.5M/yr) and Kuzma ($21.8M/yr, oof) for Green ($33.5m/yr). It works in the trade machine, but I think that'd be a lousy deal for us unless they threw in like two future 1sts or something.

They also talk about KD feeling disrespected in this.

KD is a bitch. That being said, the Rockets were expected to run for the title, and look, they have the same number of Ws we have. And we played only a game with Jalen Green, who was supposed to be the best player we got in the trade. Imagine how KD's ego is hurt knowing the trade was so far him for Dillon Brooks and we got way better and Houston are more or less in the same spot they were (worse in the standings, at least)?
And him being the twitter fanatic he is, he is reading all the "miss Dillon" "KD ball is not fun" that goes on NBA twitter.
We have the same team minus him and plus Mark Williams and Dillon. He can be the top 15 best all time, but when it comes to team ball, he doesn't have a clue!

Re: Suns News: Week 12 (1/5 - 1/11)
Time for the schedule to get a little quirky.
After playing only four games against Eastern teams through the first 37 (going 2-2), the Suns will now close out January with 12 straight versus the East. The stretch will include both games of the season series against the Pistons, Knicks, Heat, and Nets, and return engagements against the Wiz, Hawks, and Cavs. They'll also play the Sixers for the first time.
Next game against the West won't come until a home game against the Clippers to kick off February.

In hindsight we will say Barkley was right about him. He’s a phenomenal player, but he still hasn’t really figured out how to be a leader. Probably because all he understands is how to shoot and how to play basketball. He’s right in everything that went wrong wasn’t his fault. He’s right in that he did everything that was asked of him and that he worked hard. But leaders know to do all things that aren’t asked of them, they also take accountability for the failures of the collective, and when they succeed share the accolades.
So yeah, great basketball player, so so leader. I’m happy he has Ime there, because he can respect him and Ime can lead the team.
Ishbia’s mistakes were putting coaches in the coaching seat instead of leaders. Even Ott is a coach, but Dillon is a better co-leader, it’s also allowing Booker to be the natural leader that he is. Durant was never going to be Booker’s co leader and Booker was never going to take the mantle because he was too deferential.
Honestly, everyone is in a better spot now this way.
Only KD’s ego is hurt a bit
Re: Suns News: Week 12 (1/5 - 1/11)
I'm setting my own personal attendance records. I went to a MSG Suns game a number of years ago (before our Finals season). First time ever at MSG. This year, I'm going to the Knicks/Suns game on Friday here in Phoenix and I will also be attending the Knicks/Suns game at MSG (as well as Nets/Suns a couple days later at Barclays). So, first time in my life attending a home/away Eastern Conference series. I'll be sure to say hi to Spike Lee and Ben Stiller for you guys. Hey, and even better, maybe I can see ShelC again!BKinSJC wrote: ↑Thu Jan 08, 2026 7:18 amTime for the schedule to get a little quirky.
