Maluach would absolutely get picked if you left him unprotected. This will be 2 years from now though, so hard to say what things look like then.
I was asking if the expansion draft was this offseason. It's impossible to predict the roster and contractual status of everyone in 2028.

What if we just left Jalen Green unprotected in the expansion draft? They'd probably take him, but then we would be free of his salary on the cap. And he might not be the worst guy for a new expansion team, a lead scorer who can go put up 30 shots a game and get them through those first couple of tough years.

Oof, scary news for Cade Cunningham (collapsed lung). Bad timing for the Pistons but first and foremost I hope Cade will be okay.

Not strictly NBA, but it sounds like the WNBA has reached an agreement with the players union on a new CBA. The players got a lot of good concessions from the league ownership: salary cap from $1.5m -> $7m, average salary up to $600k. The WNBA has had a big upswing in popularity in the last few years especially with exciting new players like Caitlin Clark, so it's good for them to keep the momentum going and not stay mired in a long strike.

The Ringer did a good podcast breaking down this new CBA and how it came together.

Still a better fit here than Green.

Ya I know…probably should’ve separated my comments. Maluach would get snatched up quick if he was unprotected this summer…but all bets are off for the actual expansion draft

I love these hate-tweets about KD. Do we need an "All Things KD" thread?

I don't want to give him that much headspace.

By next season, we won't care so much about him.

But I was imagining last night what it would be like if we got Wemby instead of Ayton. Still, the big one was not selecting Luka when we had the chance. I think we were split 50/50 here at the time and maybe even on the side of Luka. Oh, well. Can't dwell on the past or what ifs.

Our biggest miss was not taking Hali. And we were all in favor of that one. Would’ve avoided the whole KD fiasco.

I still dream of Hali, Book, the twins and even a half realized Ayton. Would’ve been a competitive team for years.

James Jones screwed the pooch on that one. Beginning of the end for him.

Maybe an all what could have been thread…

JJ(and Iggy), KG, Luka, SGA over Mikal, Hali, Pels 1st, and on and on…Wasn’t there a rumor once we were gonna get TMac and Kobe? I think that’s when we got Nash though.

I don't know about Mcgrady but I think it is pretty well known that the Suns had every intention of drafting Kobe but he also made it known that he would never sign with any team but the Lakers sort of like that one center that the Suns drafted and refused to sign with them and we ended up having to trade him to the Nets and then he ended up shooting his personal driver. That may be the longest sentence I have ever written.
