Mori Chu wrote:Hey are you guys following this rumor/story? People on NBA Reddit are saying that at the end of the Cavs/Heat game on Christmas day, Lebron hugged Wade and said something like, "If we don't get better this year, let's join up again" etc. Super juicy rumor and fun to listen to the audio and try to discern what he said. Check it out:
I saw that, too. Got me thinking about Love and their decision to surrender Wiggins. If I'm a Cleveland fan, my dreams are crumbling.

Yeah, I bet the Cav fans in Cleveland are starting to worry at this point. There seems to be some drama about Coach Blatt, too. He does not seem to be the most popular coach. They have been asking Lebron about him and he deflects by saying things like "Well, he's the only coach we have" and "I don't pay the bills, I just play" etc. Not exactly a ringing endorsement.

If LeBron and KLove ditch Cleveland this summer, with the Carlos Boozer fiasco still in recent memory... Ouch.

Antetokounmpo had some tremendous plays tonight. I wish he was a Sun.

Nice to see Hassan Whiteside getting playing time in Miami. 6 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks, 1 steal in 20 minutes tonight. Still just 25 years old. It will be interesting to see if he can finally stick in the NBA.
George Hill has been solid since coming back from injury. Playing just 25.4 mpg in his last 5, he's averaging 14.2 ppg on 48% FG and 45% from 3. I had hoped the Pacers would be a potential Bledsoe destination, but they won't be motivated to acquire him if Hill is playing like this.

The Kings are now 2-6 under Tyrone Corbin. They lost tonight to Boston by 22. The next time the Republic and/or Lon Babby wants to dismiss building through the draft and use Sacramento as an example, someone with a clue needs to be point out the epicly bad management decisions the Kings have made over the last...I don't know...thousand years?!

Wait, who has ever used Sacramento as an example of what to do?

I can't believe they are keeping Corbin. He is *horrible*. I still don't get them firing Malone. That may be another franchise with a Sarver-like new-blood owner who doesn't yet know when to stop meddling in the daily affairs of the team.

They use Sacramento as a cautionary tale as why you shouldn't build through the draft.

Wiggins is beginning to turn it up. In the last 5 games, he's averaging 21.4 ppg on 50% FG and 42% 3P.

Surprising candor:
"I haven't played defense in a couple years," Rondo said. "I've been able to hide a lot with Avery Bradley on the ball. He's helped out, the young guy. But [in Dallas] they expect me to play defense and, in the West, if you don't play defense you'll get embarrassed every night at the point guard position."
I guess Rondo is in "chill mode"? I guess it's nice for players to be candid, but if I'm a ticket-paying fan, I don't like hearing that one of my team's best players isn't / wasn't trying hard.

Yeah, I wonder what the Boston fans think of that?

Emeka Okafor update:
Veteran center Emeka Okafor, who is being tracked by numerous teams in search of frontcourt help, is giving strong consideration to delaying his comeback from a neck injury until next season, according to league sources.
Sources told ESPN.com that Okafor, who missed all of last season after suffering a herniated disk in his neck, is leaning toward waiting until the summer before committing to a new team to give himself more time to continue strength and conditioning work.
Okafor, 32, is "healthy," according to one source, but is reluctant to rush back this season.
