Suns GM Ryan McDonough on @AZSports: "I think our roster balance is a little off and that's my fault."
Man, this guy is so brilliant.

It's not post-heavy offense, but the according to Synergy, the Suns rank 28th in points per play on post-ups.
That's very hard to believe with the incomparable Markieff Morris on the team.

As Alec Brown enters Phoenix’s D-League affiliate, the Suns are expected to discuss an NBA deal with their 2014 second-round draft pick to join the 2015-16 roster, a league source told RealGM.

Brown, a rare sharpshooter at 7-foot-1, has been rehabilitating the dislocated left shoulder that he suffered in last July’s Las Vegas summer league. He appeared in five games for the Suns’ summer league entry.

The Suns have remained high on Brown, monitoring his progress and entrance into the Bakersfield Jam of the D-League. He’ll join Bakersfield’s roster next week.

All snark aside, that's not an unbelievable stat. We don't post up a lot and Plumlee probably weighs the numbers down with his .002% shooting on post ups.

What percent of his points come from post ups?

We are currently tied in the loss column with OKC, only half a game up on them total by virtue of having 1 more win. New Orleans lost tonight, so they are a full 1.5 games back from us.

"We are a little too backcourt heavy, especially in terms of guys who, you know, I think you'd define primarily as scorers in the backcourt.

"So I think at some point we'll need to balance that out, try to get a little more size, a little more frontcourt scoring and rebounding."

Enes Kanter is supposedly available, he rebounds and plays up front.

Suns GM Ryan McDonough on @AZSports: "I think our roster balance is a little off and that's my fault."
He didn't see that $h!t in the offseason ?

I would have let Channing Frye go (which they did) and I would've let PJ Tucker go too. Yeah, I like his energy and hustle, but he can be replaced. As I mentioned last summer and I don't care what Suns front office thinks, Pau Gasol would have fit just fine.
Yeah, he turned 34 last summer, but his low-post presence, rebounding, passing/playmaking, and shooting ability is sorely needed. He can play pick-in-pop because of his shooting range (he can shoot three pointers too) and because he can shoot he didn't have to clog the middle, allowing Dragic and Bledsoe to still penetrate to the hoop. Lastly, I believe he would've been the perfect mentor for Alex Len.

My starters would've been - PG Bledsoe SG Dragic, SF Green or Warren, PF Mark. Morris, C P. Gasol

Well, that's all a wash now. I'm glad to see McDonough realize that this team is unbalanced. This offseason will be super important. Hell, the trading deadline coming up is important. This team needs changes.

It's not when you realize that he is a midrange animal who also has some inside scoring, but it's not his main weapon.
