Separate question: Who do you WANT to see win? I love Golden State this year and have enjoyed watching them a lot, especially now that I live in the Bay Area so it's the local team. But I have to admit, I think deep in my heart I really want to see the Spurs win the title. I want Duncan to get one more to have 6 and put him up there with the true greats like Jordan. I want to see them finally get a back-to-back. I want the old Big 3 to have one last great run. I want to see Duncan stomp Lebron again just like last year and send Lebron slithering back home in shame just like last year. I think that would be way more fun than watching Curry win his first. I'd love to see the Warriors win it all next year and for many years after, though.

I'm kind of with you. Although, I'm a little apathetic to all the other teams. My hopes are pinned right now on the draft lottery(even though it's nearly an impossibility).

I will say this though - the Warriors fans have been long-suffering and very supportive, so I would feel good for them if they won.

I must admit I'd be a little jealous if the Warriors won it. We had a regular season like theirs in 2006 and then were so disappointed in the playoffs. I kind of want them to go through the same thing.

The Warriors aren't a bad choice. I kind of cheer for players when the Suns aren't in it, and I've always liked Vince Carter, so the Grizzlies wouldn't be bad either.

I can't root for the Spurs. It's like rooting for the Lakers. Real hard to do.

lol, the choice is easy. the architect of the team that demolished the spurs in 2010 are now working for the warriors (kerr was GM, gentry was the suns coach, and rick welts was the suns president).

that's our team that sarver drove away.

I agree, the Warriors are the easy choice for Suns fans to root for. And they play a similar general style of basketball that we enjoyed in the past, with a high-scoring uptempo offense.

I also kind of like the Grizzlies and would enjoy seeing them do well. I keep thinking "maybe this is their year" and something always gets in the way, usually injuries.

Does anybody think that the Mavs can make it interesting and/or beat the Rockets? I kind of wanted to pick them, but I'm too scared. I do like their overall roster composition better than Houston's, and I love playoff Dirk. And they say that playoff Rondo is good stuff. I kind of don't trust Harden to carry a team far in the playoffs. I'd love to see Houston lose in the first round again.

  • warriors 4-1 over pelicans, davis shines in the series but the other players are obliterated
  • spurs 4-2 over clippers, not high on the clips, they have no depth whatsoever. paul alone will win them one and jordan/griffin/home crowd/crawford, one or a combination of those will win them another
  • rockets 4-3 over mavericks, to me the rondo situation is worse than some here think. also feel that harden has really improved over last year and will shine, but this is the series i'm least confident to call.
  • grizzlies 4-2 over blazers. blazers are also quite thin with all their injury woes... can't see them advancing past a bruising team in memphis, who i think is the 3rd best in the west, with better depth and balance than the clippers.

interesting thoughts... i'd like to see the rockets fail, but i don't want to bet against harden this year. and rondo has been such a head case. i'm with you, mori, on how i want things to turn out, i would love to see dirk get some serious run, after making that huge sacrifice and taking on 7 mil a year contract so they could pick up more help, but i just can't stand behind that roster.

I'm Cool as long as the Clippers and to a lesser extent the Mavs don't win.

I'm rooting for Memphis. I like Conley and Gasol and think Zbo is always 1 play away from starting a huge brawl. Also It'd be nice to see Eddie winslow reach the finals. Like to see the loyal fans in Portland get to see their team do well but they are so banged up.

In the East....Probabaly the Hawks or Raptros. Definitely not the Cavs or Bucks. I think Paul Pierce talks too much shit so even though I'm a fan of Wall,Beal and Gortat, Not the wizards either.
“Kobe had said (after the play) I wasn’t hugged enough as a child,” Bell recalled. “My mom kind of found him after the instance and we had beat them and offered him a hug in the bowels of the Phoenix arena. She really feels a part of that story.”

After thinking about it a bit, I've gone back and changed my prediction to be Mavs over Rockets. Maybe it's just my hate for the Rockets coming out, but I think the Mavs have a more balanced roster and a way better coach, so there's a chance they can pull it out. Also I don't think home-court advantage will be very strong since the two teams are so close to each other. I have a lot of trust in Carlisle and Dirk. They took the champ Spurs to 7 last year. Everybody on the Rockets is unproven and chokes in big moments. They even lost to the junky Blazers last year. Why would I pick them to win a playoff series this year? :-)
