Yes, they will. Also, one of my dogs, Mila, died today. I rescued her when I lived in Phoenix. She was 13.

:-( Losing an animal is the worst. I just got 2 pups this summer and don't know what I would do if anything were to happen to them. My condolences.

i'm so sorry to hear that carey. i can feel your pain. the lowest point in my life, while it wasn't started by the death of my pet, definitely ended with it. i really lost it for a few days just then.

i know that kitty and doggie heaven are things people say to sooth over their kids, but ..., at least she had you as her friend for all these years.

We have three Papillons and no kids. They pretty much are our kids. We got a pair as mates 15 years ago and had three litters that went to friends and family members. We kept a girl from the last litter about 6 years ago and she pretty much is my daughter. She never leaves my side. The mother is slowing down now and we are worried about her. That's the problem with pets. We out live them many times over and have to deal with their shorter life spans.

Some people like my aunt decide that they no longer want pets so they don't have to deal with the pain of losing them. A lot of people I know deal with the pain of losing a pet by going right out and getting a new puppy. That seems to work best. The pain you felt from losing the pet is replaced by the cute bundle of energy that you have to take care of.

So sorry to hear that, Carey. Hope you found comfort and peace on the other things around your life.

I'm dealing myself with a terminal cancer to my 11 year's old cat. She has followed me trough 3 diferent houses across the country and a recently signed divorce, always full of energy and a Diva edge that makes her lovable. I have no kids either, so during this recent stretch, she forced me out of bed on many dark days.

Now she stays slept trough the day, losig weight by the day. I don't have the courage to let her go, but I'm afraid is time.

I'm sorry. That's awful. Mine was sudden. Found her in the yard practically unconscious. Rushed her to the vet. The surgery supposedly went well. When they moved her to the overnight facility something happened and we couldn't save her. :(

It's so hard when the recovery goes bad. You are trying to rest, thinking the worst part is behind, and suddenly the nightmare starts over. Hope you found peace soon.
