I don't understand how you can have expectations when you didn't pay attention all off-season. I expected these guys to play team basketball. I have been sorely disappointed.

Agreed, to a point. He has been blowing basic assignments on both ends of the floor. I am a fan, and want to see him play, but you have to have some discipline for him. People here complain when coach doesn't hold a vet accountable, and then complain when he does hold a rookie accountable. I get the frustration on the first one, but not the 2nd. Start them off right.
I don't have a problem with the last couple games where Booker made mistakes and was taken out. That's how you learn.

I think we agree in full and not just to a point.

I watched every game last season and almost every game for the past few decades. I had a pretty good idea how good the were at the end of the season. I didn't come here every day and to find the latest changes in the off season but, I did catch the twins assault charges, Tucker's DUI, the Chandler signing and drafting Booker. I caught up on the other new guys right before the season started and the only one I heard of before was Price.

My expectations for the upcoming season were low after last season. The addition of Chandler etc. was nice but, IMO not enough to make us contenders. I don't need to read every Suns article in the off season to have an opinion on how good they will be or have expectations. I get your frustration Superbone. It's frustrating being a Suns fan, especially during the rebuilding years when we are overmatched on most nights. We start to take our frustrations out on the players, coaches and other fans.

Sorry I took my frustrations out on you. Our roster had massive turnover this off-season. About half the team replaced. Most (I'm looking at you Kieff) of the knuckleheads removed. I'm just really disappointed in our style of play. It's not Suns basketball. And it doesn't have to be... if we're winning. It's really frustrating for me watching this team right now.

Word.

I'm more than happy with Bledsoe (never thought I'd be saying that). And I'm happy they're giving Len the ball in the post when he's in there. But I find myself not wanting to pay attention until the bench comes in. I really, really hate watching Markieff Morris play basketball.

I think once Markieff is shipped out, it'll be like a breath of fresh air. We may not improve our winning percentage, but we'll be more pleasant to watch.

Markieff and PJ for Cousins.

I've been thinking about a Cousins trade. No way it happens without us including at least 3 of Len/Warren/Miami pick/Our pick.

Markieff Morris, Suns

How is Markieff Morris handling his separation from his twin brother Marcus? By slapping together the infamous “Chinese Flag” shot chart.

To date, Morris is averaging 14.1 points on 36% shooting and 26.1% three-point shooting for a Suns offense that ranks 27th in efficiency. His discipline has left a lot to be desired: Morris has no reservations about launching contested jumpers, off-balance jumpers, or contested and off-balance jumpers. He’s already chucked up at least 20 shots in a game three times this season, and Phoenix’s wins have generally come in spite of him rather than because of him (he’s a combined 16-for-42 in the Suns’ three victories).

Morris has proven in recent years that he’s better than this—he’s a fairly accomplished “tough shot-maker”—and it’s still very, very early. But after the NBA fined him this summer for publicly making a trade demand, it’s fair to wonder whether a fresh start is still the right resolution here.

Marcus’s start in Detroit—16.7 points on 42.4% shooting for a surprising 5-2 team with a clear offensive vision—only reinforces the argument that Markieff might find greater success in a more structured and stable environment. Ditto with Marcus’s recent comments that Markieff doesn’t look “happy” or “comfortable” or “too excited” in Phoenix. (Who would have ever thought that the Pistons would qualify as “more structured and stable”? But that’s the case, at least for the time being.)

I'm ok with that. Then send Knight and pieces other than Booker and Leuer for Melo.

Bledsoe-Booker-Melo-Cousins-Chandler. Not bad.

Not sure if serious. Melo/Cousins would eat Hornacek alive.

Melo and Cousins on the same court, on the same team?
You might have to play with two basketballs ...

He was on the great 'Cats team with Richard Jefferson, Loren Woods, Gilbert Arenas, Luke Walton and Gene Edgerson. He was a rock-solid college 4, but undersized for the pros.

Former Sun Kevin Johnson leaving Sacramento mayor's seat

Former Suns star Kevin Johnson announced that he will not seek a third term as Sacramento mayor but said in an Oct. 22 press conference that his decision had nothing to do with recent reports on 1996 sexual abuse allegations that brought no charges against him.

ESPN indefinitely pulled a "30 for 30" film featuring Johnson from airing Oct. 20 after Deadspin.com ran a Sept. 25 article that included a new interview with Mandi Koba, who accused Johnson of molesting her at his Phoenix home on multiple occasions in the mid-1990s when she was 15 and 16 and he was a Suns guard. On Oct. 8, Deadspin also posted 1996 video of a Phoenix police detective interrogating her. The allegations first became public in a 1997 New Times article.

No charges were made but the Sacramento Bee reported in 2008 that Johnson and Koba agreed to a $230,000 settlement, a figure she confirmed to Deadspin with the confidentiality agreement’s draft.

I don't understand why if there was a settlement that she can talk about it now? Was there a statute of limitations? Why not talk about it before? Why has it resurfaced now? Anybody know? Do I ask a lot of questions? Was the last one rhetorical?

i know it's all hypotheticals right now and none of this would happen, but i too wouldn't want cousins and melo to be on the same floor. melo doesn't exactly command respect among his peers, haven't seen anybody falling into line to play his style. and cousins is a headcase, no matter how talented. i see him routinely bring the ball up the court despite his pg looking at him while running alongside. that's not gonna work out well.

Of course you won't need to worry as it will never happen, but I wouldn't turn down the best center who is not even in his prime, and a SF/PF with top5 scoring ability that should age well. Many times we've seen questionable character/attitude turned into focus when winning becomes a real prosibility.

We can always go back to discussing Kieff for Oubre Jr plus filler or Jennings and a pick. :geek:
