Best dunk contest in years.
That Aaron Gordon's seated dunk was amazing!

Aaron Gordon definitely had the best dunks of the night, but LaVine wasn't a slouch. The judging format hurt Gordon. I think he earned the respect of LaVine, who would probably admit that Gordon was just as good, if not better, than himself.

That was a special dunk contest. Seems ones like tonight only come around about once a decade, and even more rarely with two guys putting on a show.

Yup. That Dunk Contest was a real treat. The 3-point Contest was also great. Kudos to the NBA for putting on a great All-Star Saturday.

That seated dunk by Aaron Gordon has to be one of the best I've ever seen. Wow.

Yeah, athletically it was amazing, but I think the one with the spinning mascot took another level of timing, athleticism, and coordination that very few people could do. Grabbing the ball with one hand while doing that little tuck maneuver? May never see a dunk like that again.

Ignore doesn't work when people keep reposting the original comment.

But if everyone had him on ignore, we would be all set.

Outstanding dunk contest. LaVine and Gordon should have shared the award.

Gordon should've won the dunk contest. The seated dunk and the spinning hoverboard were awesome and original.

I caught the skills comp, dunk and 3pt shootout and they were actually really fun to watch. All the other production and Kevin Hart schlock annoyed me. Sometimes the NBA just tries too hard, like the Will Barton Thriller entrance that was utterly pointless. Even Kenny and Charles were talking about it being pointless and a waste of money.

Also, the Blake Griffin Kia commercials? Probably should've pulled those?

One of the problems with the dunk contest is that, unlike the 3-point contest, there is no objectivity. In the 3-point shootout, you don't have to bicker over whether Klay or Steph should have won. It's just how many 3s they made. The dunk contest has these washed up idiots like Shaq over there giving arbitrary scores to dunks. They were all over the map and clearly factored in a dunker's "reputation" as a big part of the scores they gave.

LaVine had several great dunks, but they were not especially creative. He did like 3 variations of the MJ free throw line dunk in a row. Gordon's dunks were completely original and amazing to watch. They looked even better in slo-mo. He totally should have won.

My only complaint about the night is the same one I always have, Kenny Smith. Fuck that guy, he's the worst.

Kevin Hart was on the broadcast and you're complaining about Kenny Smith? :)

Also, this is a great video of the dunk contest best dunks. How can anybody watch this and not declare Aaron Gordon the winner?
