Probably can't hurt can it?
A place for fans of the Phoenix Suns

I'm actually still holding out hope on Bennett. Not saying he's a savior, but do I think he could eventually be a productive player on the bench? I think so.Wally_West wrote:carey wrote:Source?TheOriginalOriginal wrote:Supposedly we're interested in Anthony Bennett should he clear waivers. *shrugs*http://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources--r ... 25855.htmlThe Phoenix Suns are a possible suitor for Bennett once he clears waivers, sources said.
Liked him in college, I'd rather let him play than Ronnie F'n Price. ugh.djy2j wrote:Let's pick up Ray McCallum while we are at it too. Was waived by the Spurs.
Word. I was impressed with his play in SA.TheOriginalOriginal wrote:Liked him in college, I'd rather let him play than Ronnie F'n Price. ugh.djy2j wrote:Let's pick up Ray McCallum while we are at it too. Was waived by the Spurs.
Cap wrote:Nothing necessarily wrong with writing a letter. Unfortunately, this letter gives us no indication that anything has changed (unless he's saying that his commitment to "do things the right way" is something new). He's just going to keep plugging along and hope things gets better. For fans who have lost confidence in him, this is not reassuring.
I agree. The branding has been bad for a while. I don't like the 2-D "PHX" emblem. And rather than dive all the way into orange and black - why not get ahead of the game and just add pink? I'm serious - purple, pink and orange (and sky) are the colors of a sun rising. If you wanted to use black more heavily, then why not get a little interstellar with the design by adding STARS (after all, we are the "suns", not the "sun"). There are simply many much more creative directions they could have gone over the last 12 or so years. And this P-H-X campaign is plainly asinine - I don't know anyone who didn't have an negative initial reaction to it.Charlie Smithy! wrote:To me, the we are PHX thing is so dumb, as is the removal of the color purple (largely) from the franchise.
A better gesture would be to sell the team.Nodack wrote:I think it's a good gesture to the fans to write the letter.
I think it will depend a great deal on what coach we have and what the expectation is. From a coaches perspective, I think that the Suns have a history of bipolar disorder when it comes to rebuilding. The next coach would need to have the owner and management buy in to a four to five year plan. That way the coach can feel safe with playing the youth in order to rebuild through the draft. I think with the correct momentum we could catch lightning in a bottle and draw a free agent in year 2,3, or 4. The part that worries me is the all in factor that Sarver talks about in his letter, the swing for the fences stuff. That is what keep slowing things down swinging for the fences with no back up plan will keep the cycle going until McD gets fired and we find another GM etc etc.carey wrote:I'm probably the only other pro-McDonough guy here, but unless we get a top 2 pick in consecutive years and a major FA signing this is just kind of crazy.OE32 wrote:McD is no dummy. He'll continue to nail the draft. My best guess is that this team will be in the playoffs either next year or the year after, and in three years time, we'll be a contender with an outside chance at the title - not that I expect anyone here to take their due portion of crow when things (quite predictably) turn around.
Nice. Now if we can only get Len to realize he is taller than everyone else.Superbone wrote:Listened to Talk to the Coach on AZSports today and I thought about you, EDC. Coach says Len is the starting PF now. He wants other teams to match up with us, not the other way around.
I really hated Hornacek's failure to embrace this line of reasoning as coach. Happy to hear Watson is being more responsive to the strengths of his personnel.Superbone wrote:Listened to Talk to the Coach on AZSports today and I thought about you, EDC.
