Phxsuns.net is dead, long live phx-suns.net!

You got to do what you got to do. This conflict is over. I plan on enjoying my time here at Phx-Suns.net and if I have to put Swingman on ignore to do it, so be it.
In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote.

Then quit talking and just do it - was hoping it didn't have to come to this as I never once had a beef with you, but I'll be doing the same soon as this posts.Nodack wrote:You got to do what you got to do. Goddammit, will somebody please figure out a way to bring MEE back from the dead? She was the only one who could always find a way to defuse this nonsense.

True enough - she was the glue that kept us together and in line, pretty much.Cap wrote:Goddammit, will somebody please figure out a way to bring MEE back from the dead? She was the only one who could always find a way to defuse this nonsense.

Well said. I sure miss her, especially in times like this.Cap wrote:Goddammit, will somebody please figure out a way to bring MEE back from the dead? She was the only one who could always find a way to defuse this nonsense.

That's what I missed from you, Dan.
Some good, clean T&A.
Still remember your Famke Janssen photos. I think it was her...

I didn't download thousands of pictures, there were dozens of people in a list of folders in a torrent. A buddy of mine wanted the Kaley Cuoco and Jennifer Lawrence pics. I believe there were a bunch of pics and videos of Kate Upton, but I haven't looked for her in particular - so yeah, i *believe* she was, but i don't know first hand...Shabazz wrote:Fixed that for you.Phoenix219 wrote:Kate Upton... I think a lot of guys have first "hand" experience with those particular photos.
Not that I condone hacking into someone's pictures and posting them.

spurstalk was obsessed with those pictures. the thread just kept coming and coming
i just like obscure and novel things, i had to poke it with a stick.
and the puns don't stop...
and they don't quit. :p
On a more serious note, I don't feel bad for anyone that stores anything in a cloud. You want something secure, keep it secure.

In general I agree with that, but in the case of the leaked photos, the Apple iPhones and iPads don't make it at all clear that every photo you take is automatically shared into "the cloud." Tons of regular everyday users have all of their files shared there and don't realize it. I agree that if they went out of their way to share those files online, they have to be prepared for the consequences if the site is breached. But when we use these connected devices all the time and they upload our data and photos and files to the web without telling us that they're doing so, it's easy to see how this kind of thing can happen.Phoenix219 wrote:On a more serious note, I don't feel bad for anyone that stores anything in a cloud. As one data point, I own an iPad (though I generally hate Apple products). After the photo leaks, I thought, are my files shared? I *KNOW* I didn't click any box allowing such a thing, because I would never do that. I went and checked, and sure enough, my photos were shared in Apple's iCloud. What. The. Fuck. I never gave them any permission to do that. I immediately looked up how to disable that and removed all the photos. I'm just lucky I didn't have anything embarrassing in there, and that I'm not famous, I guess.

I agree that many users do not know half of what they are agreeing to with their gadgets and their social networks, but still, colective ignorance is not an excuse. You are careless with your credit card and you are really vulnerable to cloning. You leave on a daily basis a laptop on the front seat of your car, and you eventually will return to see your window shattered and the laptop gone. You can not leave your door open and later cry after a robbery because no one told you to have it locked. It's not like that in the real world, and neither is it in the virtual one.
I really apreciate the government efforts around the globe to create some limits to the voracity for personal data nowadays, but I will always put the main burden on the individual to know at least the main details of what they are getting into. It is not like the icloud photo feature was a very hidden one. It's on the front page of the iOS description. It's harder to know with all the personal data we give to Google and Facebook and yet we are really amazed of all those "free" services.
My first lesson at college was, "Nothing goes for free, if it sounds too good to be true, there is some hidden cost or non-monetary cost going on."

It is an extremely awful type of person that violates someone in that way. In no way is it their fault for storing them in the cloud. That's like saying because a select few people know how to pick your locks and disable your alarm system, you were at fault and nobody should feel bad because someone broke in and raped you.Phoenix219 wrote:
