Sign Bryant today! Don't even give NY a sniff at him.

I would love Thibs if he just played his bench more. I get so sick of his BS where he plays only 5-6 guys and runs them into the ground all season. He did it again this year in NY. Mike D'Antoni was the same way; it was his Achilles heel, running our starters huge minutes playing SSOL style and then they'd always break down in the playoffs.

But at this point, Thibs has decades of coaching; this is what he is. He is not going to change it at this point. I think he can get a lot out of a team, but I don't really think he would be a good fit for our particular team and roster. I would be especially terrified if we somehow did not trade KD, because Thibs would grind him to dust playing KD 43 minutes a game and injure him for sure.

People keep mentioning Thibs not being a good fit for our roster. But we have no clue what our roster will be (other than Ishbia claiming he will not trade Booker). Basically our roster consists of one player right now.

Most likely. You never know with this FO. But I almost included him. Seems he would be a good fit with Thibs, though.

Thibs would have been great 10 years ago. I’m team Bryant now.

In the other thread we are talking about teams with long-tenured coaches, and how there are so few of them. Do you guys think we gave up on any of our recent coaches too quickly? Should Monty Williams still be here? Did Vogel or Bud deserve more than one season?

I'm still a Monty guy. Think things should've been talked out and reset a bit with him. I still don't think Vogel was a good fit with the personnel and Bud just seemed miserable from Day 1.

This. Almost everything Ishbia has done thus far has been a mistake. Williams, KD, Beal, and Camara. Rough start.

Williams then flamed out in Detroit, gimme a break. He's not anything special, never has been, mostly a career loser with a few good seasons in between.

I really dislike the way William’s alienated players. Crowder could have helped this team, but Monte didn’t like him.

That is totally BS.

Monty had a lousy roster and a meddling owner in Detroit.

After they fired Monty they fired the GM and the owner stepped away, something Ishbia needs to do.

What Coach has won more games than Monty in the past decade + for the Phoenix Suns. What coach in the past 25 years has taken this franchise to the finals? What coach has the record for the wins in a season?

MDA and Monty are the only two legit coaches the Suns have had for a long time.

Gentry does not count. He was the assistant on the team MDA created prior to Sarver basically kicking MDA out of town.

To dislike Monty's time here is just BS.
What was the reason to get rid of Monty again? Oh yeah, that guy we drafted rather than Doncic.

Not disliking his time here it was good while Paul was here, but I'm not sad he's gone, he's still under .500 for his career. He's nothing special, Paul was the engine, not Monty.

Williams was great with his players when he was here except when he wasn't. Paul and Booker loved him. Crowder and Ayton, not so much. I wish he was able to get past his beefs with certain players. That was his biggest flaw but we had great years while he was here. He was one of my favorite Suns coaches up there with D'Antoni, Gentry, Cotton, Westphal, and McLeod.

Come on, they just won 44 games and were the 6th seed and almost knocked out the Knicks in the first round. Literally the next season after Monty won 14 games and had the worst record in the league. With much the same roster. It had to be incredibly embarrassing/humiliating for Monty to watch.
