Probably the only guys that interest me are Meyers Leonard, Andrew Nicholson, David Lee, Thomas Robinson, Quincy Acy, Jared Dudley, and David West.
It's more the "just" 14 and 12 that blows me away. In Orlando, especially as he left, he was a defensive alpha who teams thought could give them 20 & 14 if properly used and motivated. He was a franchise player, at least as much as Derozan. But between injuries, bad chemistry teams, and his own lack of motivation and leadership, now he's just a piece of the puzzle. Maybe not even a great piece.carey wrote:That was on the back end of a contract he signed when he was healthy(ish.) To your point though, it's not his reputation it's his health and his production. He missed half the season two years ago and there were rumblings of microfracture, then he bounced back to play in 71 this season. I think $23M/yr is a massive overpay for 14 & 12, but then again, I have no idea what's going on with these deals. Mozgov and Noah just got insane contracts. I just don't understand why you wouldn't rather have Horford. You could probably get him for a little bit less and he actually hits his FTs so you can play him in the 4th Q. Maybe Horford already told ATL he was out of there? I'm enjoying all the free agency randomness though.*O_Gardino wrote: Amare made 23 and change two years ago. With all of the free agents cleaning up this summer, how far has Howard's reputation fallen?
*Just as long as the Suns don't do anything freakin' stupid.
You've got one of those in Dudley. 3 years, $30million.INFORMER wrote:Probably the only guys that interest me are Meyers Leonard, Andrew Nicholson, David Lee, Thomas Robinson, Quincy Acy, Jared Dudley, and David West.

My question to Memphis is: what do you honestly think this team can do? A big 3 of Parsons, Gasol, and Conley?! Where is that taking you. $300 million sunk in three great role players. And the team is still a fringe playoff team.AmareIsGod wrote:Let me type this again so I know it's not a typo and my eyes aren't fooling me.
Mike Conley, 5 years, $153 million. $30 million per season. Highest overall salary in history and first $30 million per season deal.
Sometimes you have to go all in if you want to chase that 5th seed perennially. No risk it, no biscuit, as my favorite coach likes to say.INFORMER wrote:My question to Memphis is: what do you honestly think this team can do? A big 3 of Parsons, Gasol, and Conley?! Thomas Robinson?! That really surprises me. Yuck! You really want to bring FOE back to Phoenix?!INFORMER wrote:Probably the only guys that interest me are Meyers Leonard, Andrew Nicholson, David Lee, Thomas Robinson, Quincy Acy, Jared Dudley, and David West.
