The deadline has passed, I know the Knight trade broke after the deadline last year, but I'm doubtful anything else happens.

With insiders I think it comes down to the fact that it is just more fun to believe them. It generates conversation and such. Where if you don't it just leads to get annoyed at them. So definitely more fun to just go with it. :)

From Bill Simmons:

The Ringer ‏@ringer 46s46 seconds ago

Ernie Grunfeld to Randy Wittman: "Markieff Morris will be just a 3-hour car ride from his buddies in Philly, I mean what could go wrong?"

Hinrich to the Hawks.

Remember when Jeff Green had some value? Nope, neither do I.

It's a good move for the Clippers, although that can't be a straight up trade. They're had to be a protected 1st or something involve.

Jeff Green isn't a superstar, but Lance Stephenson has negative value

Doc Rivers was always frustrated by Jeff Green in Boston... Second time should go great

There could still be some stuff that happened, but isn't announced yet. But, yeah, it is very unlikely.

By keeping PJ it looks like we are going to try and retool in the off season and push for the playoffs again. His value seemed to be as high as it would go. Probably end up signing some third tier player(maybe Anderson) to a big contract in hopes of getting KD. Then when that fails push on with Bledsoe/Knight/Tucker/Anderson/Chandler.

Exciting. :(

I can see it now. 15 minutes or less per game for Booker/Warren/Len.

So let's say you are a newly hired GM. How far out should your horizon be? 3 years? 5?

I'll rescind my statement if true, but I have never seen him call a single thing unless it had already been reported by other news outlets.

Burns & Gambo started their show playing "Celebration." So dumb.

Shrug :P

It isn't about a time frame. We need a home grown star. We aren't attracting a super star player to sign with us with all the average players we have. No one is trading a star worth having. So we need to play young guys and hope they turn into something. The problem is both Bledsoe and Knight have kinda hit that point where it is unlikely that they are just going to figure it out and reach that next level. Booker looks like he could be something special and we should have a chance at another possible star from the draft this year.

Of course you want to try to win but not at the expense of playing time for the young guys. The young guys need to be getting consistent minutes in the 20+ range. So you surround them with vets that are fine with less minutes.

Once one of the young guys become something special you can start to build a team around them.
