Republicans hate Biden.
Putin hates Biden
Makes sense they would team up.

There are many Gordian knot events and narratives that have lead us to the present conflict, but one that constantly freezes my brain is the role 1990's US neocons had in establishing the framework of modern Russian paranoia/defense and how the modern far-right in the US have been mostly pushing back on the "Ukraine good, Russia bad" Western media narrative.

Good thread here in a speech Zelenskyy released today. Among other things he offers peace and safety to any Russian soldiers who surrender.

U.S. warns China not to assist Russia
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/us ... ar-AAV3C30
White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Monday that the consequences for China would be “significant,” and speaking on several Sunday shows the day prior, Sullivan offered a similar refrain, telling CNN’s “State of the Union” that “we have communicated to Beijing that we will not stand by and allow any country to compensate Russia for its losses from the economic sanctions.”
EXPLAINER: How plausible is Chinese military aid for Russia?
https://apnews.com/article/russia-ukrai ... a33eac380a
Following initial reports that Russia had asked China for military aid, unnamed U.S. officials said that Washington had determined that China had sent a signal to Russia: Beijing would be willing to provide both military support for the campaign in Ukraine and financial backing to help stave off the impact of severe sanctions imposed by the West.
At a meeting in Rome on Monday, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan warned senior Chinese foreign policy adviser Yang Jiechi against providing such support, even as the Kremlin denied requesting military equipment.

I was studying Putins health and there are dozens of articles talking about various different illnesses he might have. Lots of speculation. They are so secret that we will never really know until he dies of something and then it will be called something else anyway.

I spoke with my wife about this weeks ago. It wouldn't surprise me if Putin or Kim got word that they had a terminal disease and had 'x' number of months left to live. They would figure, what do I have to lose. I'll be dead. Why not go out with a bang and launch nukes if I have to. The thought of that is what terrifies me.

The weird theory I heard is that Putin is very superstitious and believes in a bunch of dumb numerology type of stuff. So like he invaded Georgia on 8/8/08 and he attacked Ukraine on 2/2/22.

He invaded Crimea on Feb 14 2014. I think in Russia it would be written as 14-02-2014

Ya, but he invaded Ukraine on 2/24/22 and Georgia on 8/1/08… very close to those dates, but not on them…maybe he just didn’t want to be too obvious

Ukraine President Zelenskyy gave an impassioned speech today where he asked the US to institute a no-fly zone over Ukraine. He asked Biden by name to become the leader of the free world rather than just the leader of the US.
Personally I still think we should not take this step, since it amounts to hot war with Russia. But I get why Z is asking, and it's sad to see their people attacked from the air and hurt or killed.

War is so horrible. Natural disasters are one thing but intentionally killing thousands of people and destroying perfectly good buildings and structures is an atrocity. Putin is a monster.

Watching that video crushes my soul. How anyone can defend this is fucking deplorable and despicable.
"Bioweapons. There's a history in the region where Ukraine has been wrong. Those videos are just propoganda. Blah blah"
If you think any of that justifies bombing established cities that people, children and elders, living under a democracy and have nothing to do with that bullshit are having to endure, you're wrong.

A war with Russia probably means a war with China too and most likely the end of life on planet earth. What Putin is doing is mass murder and evil. What Biden is doing is trying to avoid WWIII while trying to help Ukraine. It’s a very dangerous game of chicken we are playing. I get Ukraine’s leader begging for a no fly zone. If I was their leader I would be begging too. That would be a dangerous escalation and could lead to the end of people on planet earth, which would be worse than Russia destroying Ukraine.
I don’t know where this is going to end up the same as everyone else.
