The thing I've seen with Warren is a decrease in energy level - basically from his first summer league forward. The impression I have is that during that first summer league, the coaches told him to just go out and torch the other team. From that point on, though, I think they've been very clear about wanting him to play within the system - to become more well-rounded, but also to defer on offense, to play within the system, be patient. But I don't think that's what he is. I think he's a natural high-volume scorer. I think if you give him the rock 6 out of 10 times times down the court, he'll score three times, with a three or an and-1 thrown in. And if you get into a run-and-gun game with him, his efficiency will increase, and he'll blow you out. But we haven't put him in a position or given him permission to play that way.

That is all to say that I think TJ holds a lot more potential than his play than season would indicate.

One thing I like to see out of players is growth, and I'm with those who said that TJ needs more consistent minutes, but in limited action this year, I'm very happy to see that he's added a 3 pointer to his game. Unfortunately we won't know whether that shot is really in his arsenal now or if it's just a smaller sample size issue. Either way, I'm happy to see growth, which gives me hope that he can continue to develop other aspects of his game.

Of course certain players show an allergy to defense, but at least so far I haven't seen/heard any such problems with TJ, so I'm choosing to be optimistic about him.

TJ makes great defensive plays from time to time. He's streaky defensively, which is strange. His biggest weakness seems to be on the defensive glass. But sometimes you have to build around a player's strengths rather than trying to mold them into something they're not.

... ... We have two point guards, and also none. And that's a problem for everyone.

TJ would be a joy to watch next to a real distributor like Nash or Rubio. he makes cut after cut, only to see a chuker take a long shot. His defense can improve to average, as long as there is a real system in place, this team is too disfunctional to get a fair opinion on our young players development.

TJ reminds me a little of Ceballos. Both with that sneaky hanging around the rim for easy baskets mentality and TJ has a lot of mid range shots in his Arsenal. I think it's a nice compliment to the long range chucking you are talking about.

For the time being it appears his main strength on offense, other than to generate something out of nothing at the end of the shot clock, is to make timely cuts and bail out said PGs when they invariably launch themselves in the air and run out of options. Offensively, that alone is an incredible asset to this team.

Defensively, of course rebounding is an important part, but as long as he learns good fundamentals and understands how to box out and position himself for good help defense, I'm okay with having average defense, especially statistically. I think that, for someone who understands offensive spacing and attack angles, he certainly possesses the basketball IQ to understand defensive spacing and timing. I'm not dreaming of another Kawhi Leonard by a long shot, but if he can up his effectiveness to Dudley levels, then I'd be ecstatic. A net non-negative on both the offensive and defensive sides of the floor, that has become quite the unicorn in my recent Suns fandom.

Really?

Considering the little playing time he has received, that is encouraging, specially for the clear room to improvement on the defensive just by increasing his minutes.

They are hosted on imgur. Do you not have access to that from where you are?

Probably blocked in China. In the US of course they load just fine.
