Ron Ron always had a little crazy in him.
Agreed, it clearly looked like Chriss thinking that Bledsoe was pushed by Porzings, but Green as a role model???? Really????

Even with that in that mind, you can get ambushed within these "some fight"... remember Robert Horry taking out half our starting lineup with one timely hipchecking, that effectively lead to our elimination? Say what you want about the league criteria, but we put ourselves in that situation with our lack of discipline and composure. (Just an extreme example, not looking for travel trough time)

Yeah, I'd rather go old school and use Maurice Lucas as a template.

And Luke spent a couple of years with the Suns ...

Green may be a decent player, but there's some Bruce Bowen tendencies that just aren't cool.
That shit is exactly what Watson is talking about. He's not asking Marquess to be a triple-double guy and run the offense. He is telling Marquess to be a physical intimidator.

Playing physical and being an intimidator aren't necessarily the same thing. Chriss thought Bedsoe was taken out intentionally and stuck up for his team mate. I don't have a problem with that. His game is starting to round out some. He wasn't in foul trouble against SA.

A note,
I know we think of Chandler as the guy who isn't part of the rebuilding sqaud and is sort of the rented experienced older locker room guy who takes minutes from Len. Havng said that Chandler has to go down as the best rebounding Center in Suns history. His offense is limited to alley oops or put backs but, he has totally cleaned the boards this year and plays defense. The history of Suns Centers is sad. Its almost always our weakest position. I liked the Polish Hammer the best of all our Centers and rate Chandler as #2 on the list. Len is up there but, I feel like the jury is still out on him. Shaq was the most famous Center but, he was on his last legs and became a circus side show when he was here. Luc Longley, Mark West, Oliver Miller, Lampe, Santiago, Jermaine O'Neil?

Chandler is meat and potatoes and 12 board a game. Just thought I would give credit where it's due.

i'd like to see knight start because that would mean he would be playing off the ball/catch and shoot most of the time with bledsoe.

if he's with the second unit, he'd be the primary ball handler and we've seen the ugly results so far. he isnt efficient in creating his own shot with the suns, and he wasnt with milwaukee.

I'd take a future 2nd for Tucker if it meant getting Bender some PT.

We'd have to take back Wesley Johnson and the 3 years on his deal, I'd want their first round pick.

(In my best cajun accent) Yeah, you right! I would just like to add that Oliver MIller was on his way to being really good. I just remember how soft his hands seemed to be. He caught everything. His stats his 2nd year with us at age 23 are eerily identical to Len's save for his 60% fg. He averaged 9 & 7 with 2 blocks in 25 minutes. Basically exactly what Len is averaging now in 25 minutes at age... 23. I hope Len's career doesn't max out on the Raptors at 13 points per game too. Btw, I totally don't remember Miller's 2nd stint with the Suns in '99-'00. Why is that deleted from my memory? It's a shame he could never get his weight under control.

P.s. Chandler has 5 games of 18 rebounds or more this year and he missed 8 of our 26 games.

Neal Walk averaged 12.4 rebs in 72-73 (w/ 20.2 ppg) in 81 games. Following year he had 16.8 ppg and 10.2 rpg in 82 games. Walk was solid, and didn't miss games.

Totally agree about Chandler. Last season he had the Sun's all-time best season in rebound percentage when he grabbed 19.3% of all rebounds while he was on the floor. This season, he is grabbing 23.1%, which will be a career high for him if he can keep it up. He won't get the most rebounds overall, because he won't play the minutes. But in his time on the floor, he really gets it done.

And I'd like to clarify my position on the Chriss / Watson thing, because a few people have commented similar to what you said right after my doom-and-gloom posts.

I don't have a big problem with the play Chriss made. My problem is with the way Watson talked about it.

LOVE Chandler. Always have and hope he can stay on through the rebuild. He's worth keeping unless things go south and he wants out. I hope he's not just playing to get traded somewhere else.

Reportedly he had an opportunity to be traded this summer and expressed his preference to remain here. Where he would have been traded to, I don't know.

I agree that Chandler has been a very positive influence on our team. He's a good soldier who goes out there and does his job. He greatly helps our defense and rebounding. He doesn't complain about our bad record, nor his role/minutes. He mentors the young guys (e.g. Len) and seems genuinely happy for them when they do well. Exactly the kind of veteran leadership you'd want on a young team like this.

I don't see Chandler's defense. The rebounding is great.

I kinda agree with you. Chandler does play good defense at times but a lot of the time he just refuses to challenge shots at all.

Exactly. I hate when he doesn't put his arm up to contest drivers. And I think Len is picking up the habit.

Why hasn't Knight been traded yet? I thought he was supposed to be gone on the 15th?

Cut him outright if they can't trade him. Give him the Josh Smith treatment.

Oh dude, way too much money involved to do that. He still is an asset, too. I don't know what kind of value he has but I assume they are hoping he raises it over time as the team starts to play better.

And pay him 14 million a year for the next 3 years to play for someone else? Stupidest thing we could possibly do. Knight isn't playing well but there is no rush to get rid of him. Winning games doesn't matter right now and he's not really in the way of our younger players. Tyler Ulis a little bit.

We need to let him play, hopefully he starts playing better and then we can trade him for something of value.
