It sounds as if it was some kind of a panic move and it sounds as if Divac was pushed to do it. It also sounds as if Divac doesn't know how to deal with the media.

Wonder if this is in response to not pulling the trigger on Cousins. Could be coincidental. Seemed like Magic was in line to take over for a few weeks already.

They won the championship in 2010. Way too early in the rebuild to pull the plug on a GM that has seen you through so much.

On the other hand any Laker misfortune just provides me with amusement.

Also if Sarver gets antsy and kicks McD to the curb at least there is someone out there with a lot of experience he could hire... Na who am
I kidding when was the last time we hired a coach or a front office guy that had even a year of experience?

edit: I guess both D'Antoni and Gentry had a little experience. I think everyone else has been a first timer.

At the job they are hired to do when they weren't already with the team in some capacity? None. He's hired plenty of assistants,agents and commentators though. It's why I fear firing McDonough at this point more than just keeping him on and riding it out.

I wonder if Phil will opt out from his Knicks deal and join them.
