I do have to admit I get a little nervous when I see this thread updated in the middle of the offseason. I mean, the man is 90-years-old after all.
I totally get that; I am the same way. I almost put it in the Suns offseason thread just for that reason. Hoping he can still see that first ever Suns championship this season, though! And I'm sure Mat would give him a well-deserved ring.

I hope Al lives a long and happy life post-retirement. But I do worry about the same thing. Some of these older men, when they lose their wife or their job or their "thing" they've been passionate about, they don't last too long after that. They sort of atrophy without that thing in their lives and they don't last long. I hope Al finds other things he can be passionate about and take joy from, so he can enjoy his (long!) next chapter.

Well, when you retire at 89, that next chapter isn't going to be long, relatively. It doesn't matter how passionate he is about his interests. Unfortunately, Death is undefeated. Al has already lived longer than most. Fortunately, the Suns window is now and Al has a chance to see the Suns possibly get their first NBA championship after all of his years of service.

Maybe it's time for him to start getting serious about his jazz career and release some piano albums.
Vin Scully lived for almost 6 years after retiring at almost 89.

Maybe he could do vocals for some heavy metal albums in his 90s, a la Christopher Lee.

I love how he doesn't even look at the keys half the time.

Al learned the "no look" move from all his days of watching basketball.

Shouldn't he be playing Heartbreak Hotel?
Re: Legendary Broadcaster Al McCoy Retiring At The End Of The Season
Either that or music from the soundtrack of O Brother (Where Art Thou?).
Or the soundtrack to Shazam?
Imagine had he pulled out the Alan Parsons Project intro... I would have straight up died and went to suns heaven.
Taking it a step further... Probably my favorite intro because of how cool it was and it being the Nash era... Imagine had he done The Prodigy's "Firestarter".
