It’s really not a surprise that Dallas got the #1 pick. And the Spurs get number 2. Wow.
Boogie Fland and Dink Pate, of course. (I am a grown-up and I evaluate basketball talent and don't just giggle at silly names.)Uncle_Gene wrote: ↑Mon May 12, 2025 9:41 pmOkay, so the Suns have the 29th and 52nd picks in the draft.
Who would you like for them to draft ?
I would draft someone with the name Boogie even if he was a quadraplegic. (no adulting for me).O_Gardino wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 5:54 amBoogie Fland and Dink Pate, of course. Agree with all of this. I haven't been on the trade Book wagon, and still really wouldn't, but Dallas getting Flagg or trading him for Giannis just pushes the Suns further away from any type of contention. Realistically, are the Suns able to beat Minny, Denver, SA, OKC, Houston or even Dallas now in a 7 game series? That's also not even factoring in Memphis or the Lakers even without LeBron. Those teams are set up to be good for a long time, and best case scenario is we're looking at the Kidd years where they make the playoffs and are bounced in the first round each year. As much as it would suck, the best option might be to tear it down to the studs and reset the timeline. As unlikely as it is, a core of Flagg/Amen/Dunn would at least be exciting to watch.specialsauce wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 9:03 amThe thing is... Kyrie/AD are on completely different timelines from Flagg.
And you know there is no way Nico is trading AD away. So it doesn't make sense to me for them to keep Flagg. I would think they would want to match up timelines and trade for a win now piece instead. KD for salary filler and Flagg would make sense from a timeline standpoint for them. So would trading for Giannis or any other superstar that is better than KD.
If I'm the Suns and I make that deal, my next trade is Booker for one of our picks back and Amen Thompson. I'd build around Flagg and Thompson.

Wouldn't be a bad name for a quadriplegic. That or Bob.JJ Slim wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 5:59 amI would draft someone with the name Boogie even if he was a quadraplegic. I won't argue against your premise that the Suns should reset their timeline. It's one way to go. Personally, I value Book and would like to see him play his entire career in Phoenix. He is the Suns version of Reggie Miller (the Pacers did manage to build a contending team around Reggie late in his career).BigLewy wrote: ↑Tue May 13, 2025 9:54 amAgree with all of this.
