It’s really not a surprise that Dallas got the #1 pick. And the Spurs get number 2. Wow.

I really wish I had taken the conspiracy theory seriously and bet on Dallas winning.

Suns pick (being sent to Houston) ends up at #10. Wtg Ishbia and puppet FO, great trades.

Okay, so the Suns have the 29th and 52nd picks in the draft.

Who would you like for them to draft ?

So Giannis is most definitely going to Dallas or San Antonio, right?

Kinda of a no brainer, at least for the Spurs it should be. Mavs should just be happy with Flagg but spurs should absolutely be all in trading number 2 and ATL picks for Giannis. Go pair the freak with the 👽.

I know money wise it’s tough but I’d trade KD, Dunn and 29th overall for Flagg right now. Don’t think Mavs take that, but it’s fun imagining haha.

Boogie Fland and Dink Pate, of course. (I am a grown-up and I evaluate basketball talent and don't just giggle at silly names.)

I would draft someone with the name Boogie even if he was a quadraplegic. (no adulting for me).

The thing is... Kyrie/AD are on completely different timelines from Flagg.

And you know there is no way Nico is trading AD away. So it doesn't make sense to me for them to keep Flagg. I would think they would want to match up timelines and trade for a win now piece instead. KD for salary filler and Flagg would make sense from a timeline standpoint for them. So would trading for Giannis or any other superstar that is better than KD.

If I'm the Suns and I make that deal, my next trade is Booker for one of our picks back and Amen Thompson. I'd build around Flagg and Thompson.

Agree with all of this. I haven't been on the trade Book wagon, and still really wouldn't, but Dallas getting Flagg or trading him for Giannis just pushes the Suns further away from any type of contention. Realistically, are the Suns able to beat Minny, Denver, SA, OKC, Houston or even Dallas now in a 7 game series? That's also not even factoring in Memphis or the Lakers even without LeBron. Those teams are set up to be good for a long time, and best case scenario is we're looking at the Kidd years where they make the playoffs and are bounced in the first round each year. As much as it would suck, the best option might be to tear it down to the studs and reset the timeline. As unlikely as it is, a core of Flagg/Amen/Dunn would at least be exciting to watch.

Wouldn't be a bad name for a quadriplegic. That or Bob.

I won't argue against your premise that the Suns should reset their timeline. It's one way to go. Personally, I value Book and would like to see him play his entire career in Phoenix. He is the Suns version of Reggie Miller (the Pacers did manage to build a contending team around Reggie late in his career).

I will argue against the bolded statement though. While it may seem that these teams would beat the Suns right now, we don't know what the retooled Suns will look like. Also, all of those teams have their own problems that could derail their bid as contenders.

Minny could implode with key players Gobert and Conley being less effective as they age, Randall being Randall (there's a reason he hasn't stuck with one team for long), and a maturity lacking Edwards (I'm starting to dislike him more and more).

Denver is just getting older and more salary cap constrained. One injury to Jokic and they are drafting next seasons Flagg.

SA hasn't shown much with Wemby. Personally, I'm not sold on him. They are probably the most likely to be competitive in the future, but I'm not sold yet.

OKC is good now, but there is NO WAY they keep that team together. They just can't afford it.

Houston is overrated. They lack offense and maturity and just lost to the 7th seed with a roster of geezers. They desperately need a mature, hall-of-fame scorer that just wants to hoop; it's going to cost them dearly as those types have LOTS of suiters.

Dallas is going to have salary issues as well. It's not clear at all that Giannis, AD, and Kyrie (who isn't even going to play next season) can co-exist. Shouldn't we expect the next Big <==3 to suck as much as the last several iterations? I'm not convinced Giannis works well with another superstar.

It's easy to be down on the Suns, but it's not impossible for them to be competitive. There are always teams that people expect to be good that aren't for whatever reason (*cough 2024-25 Suns *).

I like the center from Kentucky, Amari Williams.

He has good size, rebounding, and they knack for being active in the paint.
