That No Ceilings coverage has Maluach looking like Ayton when he first got here. Remember that first year when he was locking people up at the top of the key and recovering.
I thought Ayton was pretty bad defensively in his first year. His impact on the defensive end came later.

I do wish all these analysts would learn how to say his name properly..
A few have some consistency but they're wrong. Why does nobody listen to the man himself? I don't get it. It will be interesting to see what the Suns media guide comes up with for pronunciation.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

When was he causing Giannis fits? I thought that was end of his first year. It all blurs together the older you get, man.
Go Suns!

I feel like he gave Giannis fits in maybe 1 game. I just checked and it looks like Giannis had no problems producing against the suns at any point during Ayton’s time here.

Yeah... Giannis feasted on the Suns like it was baklava.
Love, Hurts.

Yeah, I just remember a bull in a china shop. The refs let him do whatever he wanted. He was like Grayson Allen at an all-you-can-eat buffet.

Ayton played really good defense in the playoffs during our Finals run on guys like Anthony Davis and Nikola Jokic. He did okay against Giannis all things considered, but it was almost impossible to stop Giannis that season, especially with the refs giving him every call.

How does Maluach compare to the giants drafted last year? Clingan and Edey

Ayton stopped caring is what happened.
It didn’t happen in a vacuum. It happened when the organization stopped caring about him (summer 2021).

The context doesn’t matter much to me.

Had a better freshman season than both of them.

Guys with a measured reach longer than Maluach since 2000:

Tacko Fall 10’2.5
Mark Williams 9’9
Pável Podkolzine 9’8
Mo Bamba 9’7.5
Bol Bol 9’7.5
Rudy Gobert 9’7
Zach Edey 9’7
Donovan Clingan 9’7
Javale McGee 9’6.5
Rocco Zikarsky 9’6.5

I thought Maluach’s reach was 9’8? Not that it matters … excited to see what he does on the court.

6 years in still doing this. Deandre Ayton is a decent big man, very skilled, very lazy. Rather have Mark Williams for the price. Not even a debate.
