He definitely is as bad as the narrative is. He was bad last year before KD and KD is a good defender, so is Thompson, Sengun has lead feet on defense and has no verticality. He'd be a fun PF next to a athletic 5, but you're not winning anything with him at 5.

KD used to be a good defender. But he was terrible for us and he's been terrible for the Rockets.

KD was not terrible for the Suns defensively, it was probably his best attribute while he was here tbh.

Terrible transition defense though…

The book is out on KD. He’s a phenomenal 1on1 scorer, but if you double and blitz him, he doesn’t have the ball handling or playmaking to beat it anymore. Ya he’ll shoot 60% on mid range shots, but it’s when he doesn’t shoot(turnovers) that it’s a problem.

He was decent on the interior when he felt like providing help but was awful at rotating to shooters on the perimeter. The way our team closed out on shooters this year, or our contest %, was probably the area we improved the most according to my unofficial eye test. And that was a direct result of shedding KD and BB and upgrading our whack center rotation.

Those are all good questions, and to be honest, I'm waiting on the original Original's feedback before I feel like I will have those answers, even for myself

He had pretty good defensive metrics though when he was defending the shooter. People don’t shoot well against him…but maybe the problem was him not defending enough shots

Are the Wolves for real? And/or, are the Nuggets washed? Minny leads that series 2-1 and looks strong.

Nuggets have not been right all season and they lost Gordon for this game. Shame as he’s basically the perfect 4 for the modern game if only he could stay healthy.
