Gillespie and Allen were a combined 10 of 10 FG and 7 of 7 3-Pt FG for 29 points in 25 minutes.
And...the Suns are still down at half because of the fundamental flaw -- you can't play midget ball.
Well, you can, but the Suns don't have the players to protect the rim if Williams or Maluach isn't out there, and Brooks, O'Neale and Booker aren't solving that problem when they're playing forward.
Isn't this the fundamental flaw?

It was really, really sad to see Booker pass up the open three and give it up to Gillespie. He's lost the mojo.

He needs a change of scenery. There is no way for the Suns to pick up a true alpha without stripping all of their depth. Booker is still very valuable but melts down under the pressure of being the head of the snake. We're confirming that he's a great Robin -- just not Batman.

Trade him for draft assets, also trade Grayson and Royce for draft assets, keep the Villain unless you get ridiculously good assets. Sign Williams to a small backup deal. Give Gillespie/Green/Oso/Dunn/Fleming/Maluach a chance to gel with the mission of making it into the playoffs. Give ourselves a 3 year timeline to see if they grow into something more.

As bad as this is I would rather be the Suns than the Pistons right now.

And...Maluach makes a difference. 5 point swing on that block.

I honestly think we need to figure out a way to move Book off the ball again next season. I'm okay with point book in small doses, but I want Booker shooting and cutting, not passing.

I'd be really good resigning Gillespie and having him start as the primary ball handler, but that means Green has to accept a role off the bench.
