Boris Diaw was fairly effective at center when he played there. Short sample, I know. But he was so unconventional it baffled some teams, such as the Yao-led Rockets.

Also the Shaq co-led Heat. That 05-06 team would have destroyed Miami in the finals.

As far as true centers go, RoLo was solidly average and everything we needed next to Amare in 09-10. Len's already shown more than him overall however.

With regards to the topic, I think Love is a max player. He's been marginalized on that Cleveland team because they don't have smart players. I also don't think Blatt is doing enough to play thru Love. The Spurs have shown you can run and shoot for the better part of the game, but in winning time, they play thru Duncan down low.

So, I think he is a max player who's been on bad teams in Minny and isn't being utilized correctly in Cleveland. It's always funny when I read so and so isn't a winner or a max player...until they win. Remember, Dirk was soft and couldn't win the big games, KG in Minny couldn't make the big shots and shied away from the big moments, Pau was soft and wasn't a franchise player in Memphis. Sure enough, put the right team around them and all of sudden, KG is a warrior and a true winner and Dirk/Pau are two of the best bigs to ever play.

unlike KG, pau who immediately found success once they moved to another team, love has yet to find it playing with lebron.

Ah, so that's what Blatt meant by him not being a max player yet. KLove's getting his big new contract in 2016, not this year like Irving.
