Schaffartzig chokes. Serbia wins and remains unbeaten. Tough shooting game for Bogdan and his entire team. But they did enough to pull out the win. Bogdan lead his team in assists with 4 finished with nine points. Only bjelica had more for Serbia with twelve.final score 68-66. Good night everybody. Take care.

Absolutely!
By the way, is it possible for the mods to create an Eurobasket thread and put all these post in there?
Today we have Greece-Croatia and Spain-Turkey!
Regarding those two games. Greece came back from behind to win by two in Zagreb (Croatia). Yannis was no real factor in the game. Spain crushed Turkey 104 - 77 to bounce back from the loss to Serbia.

Yep, I watched Turkey-Spain. Turkey doesn't play a lick of defense. Cedi Osman looks like a decent prospect, deceptively quick and with a good stroke from long range.

Today there was a huge mistake on the gamewinning basket for Belgium vs lituania. The ball was clearly still in the players hand when the lights came on. The problem is, that at eurobasket the refs can only use the large screen replay and they probably couldn't catch it on that angle.

Bogdan had 9,7 and 6 in a rout against Iceland (the Cinderella of the tournament). Right now my fellow Italians are holding their own vs Spain. Actually after a huge run fueled by Marco bellinelli they lead 57-47. Very physical and nervous game.

Good luck! I'd love to see Italy beat Spain.

Spain has flaws but Italy hit brutal shots nonstop. Just unstoppable. Congrats on the win!

Thanks.

Gallo looks healthy right now. After the last game where he was in foul trouble and didn't play much, he had another huge offensive output. He is really really good when healthy. Bellinelli was on fire from the arc 7/9 i think, and mostly in the second half. Gasol had 34 setting a new tournament high. A great game to watch.

Iceland played Spain pretty well for most of the game. They employ a simple system of ball movement, penetration and dish out for threes. They shoot a ton of three pointers. Nelson-like approach. Really, it was beautiful for a big chunk of the contest, even up 31-28 during the second quarter.
Can't wait for Germany and Dirk vs Pau.

Thanks. It sums up pretty well what I hope Tyson chandler will bring the suns in terms of leadership and motivation.

That game will probably be an in or out game, since Germany lost to Italy in overtime today. Gallinari has been matched up against NBA fours (mirotic, gasol, ilyasova, nowitzki) and has dominated so far. Very impressive. Iceland is really fun to watch, since all players are almost the same sice and tweeners 3/4s. Also other than stefanson they have virtually no one who can create their own shot. But they play hard, unselfish and shoot a lot of threes and are just a bunch of great guys.

Eurobasket is now in the round of Last 16. Four Games today. Playing now Slovenia vs Latvia. Former Sun Zoran Dragic is Slovenia's leader. Game will go down to the wire it seems. The highlights of today are Spain vs Poland and France vs Turkey. Winners move on to quarter finals losers are out.

Pau vs The Hammer is going to be awesome but I hope we don't suffer too much elsewhere. Poland shouldn't be a threat after two quarters and a half but Spain has been allowing lesser teams get hot, especially from three. Let's see if Pau is not tired and keeps up his dominance inside (has been totally off from midrange).
Did you watch Spain-Germany? Schroder missed the third free throw that would have sent the game to overtime. It was a totally BS call though, so karma did its job. Secon game Dennis missed under pressure but the kid is a terror penetrating. The next Tony Parker, and if he develops further his pull up, watch out. Teague could be expendable soon in Atlanta.

No I couldn't watch that game unfortunately. Schroeder is incredible at penetrating, almost impossible to guard one on one. I think Spain will only get better the longer the tournament goes. Latvia is through, now watching Greece vs Belgium, which is surprisingly close so far. Who do you think will win it all? I think it's between France, Serbia and Spain.

Yeah, Serbia, France and Spain are the favorites. Italy has enough firepower to beat anyone though. I think those four teams will make the semis.
I don't see Spain winning it all with the bad defense they are playing and their inconsistent three point shooting. Exactly the opposite to Serbia. France-Serbia looks like the most plausible outcome and with France at home my money would be on them.

Gasol on fire so far, 15 points without a miss and 3/3 from three. Poland actually playing better IMO and hanging tough 39-38 Spain but two freethrows for Poland.
