i don't have an actual news link to post, but what is the deal with cousins' achilles strain? i watched most of the kings clippers second game, that team seems ready to implode. cousins insists on bringing the ball up the court and chucks more 3 pointers / 23 footers than he does layups. several trips rondo kept looking at him going down court but he kept on dribbling it himself into a long two anyway. i wonder how long before one of cousins/rondo/karl blows up.

and also... curry scores 93 points on the pelicans in 2 games. amazing. that man is playing at another level right now... if you had to start an nba franchise today, and you had pick #1, who would you go with? if curry is consistently able to do what he does right now, i may take him before AD and durant. thoughts?

Great question, Pickle. You can't go wrong picking any of those guys. Though front court stars are generally a bit harder to find. Then again, Curry may already be the best shooter of all time (Sorry, Steve.) It probably depends on who else you have and what kind of team you want to run. Both teams are lucky to have mega-super-stars like that.

i feel like at this point davis can more or less anchor a defense, but he can't quite anchor an offense by himself. i felt sorry for him, always getting pushed out to the 20 foot line before he could even get the ball. i wonder if it's because he's just thin, or if the refs are letting them rough him up a little bit. felt like the same was being done to durant in the playoffs the last few years. whereas curry is just too crafty with the ball and such a threat with his shot, off the pop or off the dribble, that he really sucks in the entire defense and then has the ability to create for wide open teammates. that ability is absolutely transcendental.

I don't think I've seen anyone play at the level Curry is currently playing at since peak LeBron. He's a cheat code.

I'm exhausted so waiting until tomorrow to get the Week 2 thread up. I would like to say that it's funny Goran's usage rate is so low in Miami right now. 24 min last night and he didn't do much. 8 points with a -6 in a 20 point win. Also, Houston started the year 0-3. Probably not what they had in mind.

I know I should be above this, but that makes me happy.

Love it. Also love seeing the Rockets stink so far.
