On a different note, I've been really impressed with Leuer. He's got a great outside shot but is showing a lot of versatility on the boards and bringing the ball up a bit in transition. He's got some nice bounce and isn't just a shooter like Novak. I'd like to see him get some consistent minutes. Could be a Channing Frye type for us.
If Keef doesn't wake up soon, Leuer's going to be starting. There's no question who has been the better player through preseason and the first three games of the regular season.

I don't think it matters how good of a relationship he has with Marshawn Lynch.

Leuer = Lou Amundson with the ability to play basketball.

In what way other than skin color? I'm not trying to call you out or anything but I don't see any similarities in their game whatsoever. Aside from playing the same position.

ok, Leuer = Bo Outlaw with the ability to play basketball.
ie. hustle player, just Leuer seems to have some actualy basektball ability vs the other two could not really play other than try really hard all the time.

I am as critical as anyone of them, so congrats to #2 and #3 last night. They scored really well and out-played what many would say is a much, much better back court tandem.
So I still have to say that they are both awful at running on offense that includes other players, and I think a lot of that is because they are both poor ball-handlers. It amazes me how often they bobble balls.
Price is much better at getting us into an offense. I know everyone says this about the lesser parts on their teams, but if we could find a way to combine Beldsoe, Knight and Price, we would have 1 really good point guard.

Did Goodwin play at all last night? If he did, I don't remember a single thing he did.
Also, it is hard to argue with production, so when your back court scores 67 points and only has 5 TOs, you have a hard time criticizing the fact that Booker didn't play. And you have to wonder if he is getting the things in practice that he needs to show. Sure, if it happens regularly that Booker doesn't get any burn, then Hornacek isn't doing his job. (And side note, I think it would be good to see what Booker can do in the d-league getting 20 shots a night).

He's been saying the game is slowing down for him but he was still rushing his moves last night. When he is eventually able to keep them under control, he'll be much more effective.

This is the guy I think of when I watch Leuer and yes, the white thing has something do with it. It just that hustle, consistent, deceptive talent thing.

Leuer is actually fairly skilled. He shoots, he rebounds, he passes, and he can put it on the floor a little bit. He just doesn't have the ceiling of a lot of these guys. I don't really see Outlaw or Lou when I look at him. Comparisons are a tricky thing. I'm going to have to watch him some more.

Leuer is a much better shooter than Lou Amundson was, while Lou was a sneaky exceptional athlete and leaper. Leuer has good energy level and hustle, like Lou, but Lou was insane and took it to another level. Lou was also a bit craftier around the basket and a better "garbage man" in terms of grabbing the ball and putting it back in. Lou was a lousy shooter and especially a lousy FT shooter, while Leuer has a smooth stroke.
Other than the hustle/motor and general physical size of them, along with the skin color, I don't think they are all that similar. I kind of like the Frye comparison better, though Leuer seems a little smaller and lighter on his feet than Frye and a bit less likely to camp at the 3-point line. Frye was also excellent at the pick-and-pop, while Leuer hasn't yet proven whether he is as skilled at that.
I don't know if I can think of a better comp yet, but maybe one will come up.

I think the Frye comparison is a pretty good one although Leuer is a better athlete and maybe a better rebounder.

From what I've seen so far Frye's trigger is much quicker than Leuer's. That might prohibit Leuer from becoming the pick-and-pop threat but as a big drawing his man out on the wing or in the corner it can work.

Leuer seems a little more mobile than Frye was. He is also more active as a defender and rebounder although Frye did have some good rebounding games. Leuer just seems more. . .competitive than Frye. He also seems more consistent.
AC Green, Kurt Rambis, maybe even a little Uncle Cliffy.

Cliffy is an interesting comparison. But Cliff Robinson had those loooooong arms and was great at disrupting shots. I don't think Leuer will give us that. Also Uncle Spliff played with smoke coming out his ears and nose half the game; jury's still out on whether Leuer lights up like that!

It is funny how everybody seems him differently. I don't think he is similar to any of those guys, so far. Right now, if we are sticking with ex-Suns, I see him as more of a Pat Garrity (I know, sorry about the other white guy comparison).

Crossing fingers. Not holding breath. I think I am going to be surprised every time they get a win this season. I think I will be real optimistic and hope for a .500 season.
I was really surprised by their play against Portland. Thought for sure Portland would beat them in the revenge match. Our guards getting no respect by anyone giving everybody the middle finger the last two games.
Len just looked like he was trying to hard. Forcing things. Wasn't his night.
Morris's stock at an all time low and throwing up bricks in the first two games. He did hit some threes in the second Portland game. Him playing well is in everybody's best interests.
I hope the can continue to grow and surprise me all season.
