Comically bad down the stretch by the Suns

The ending of the game for Phoenix was the basketball equivalent of running three quarterback sneaks from the 5-yard line in attempt to score a touchdown.
Well, so much for hopes and dreams ...

Good thing coach took them out to end the game. Our lack of turnovers and precise ball movement from the starters is what won us this game.EDC wrote:Booker is just smart out there. He should always get the minutes over Price.
Loving the defensive presence of Len.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Kieff's minutes were real difference makers in this game.Cap wrote:Thanks for that brilliant end of quarter play, Keef.

The last three possessions of the game really make up for it though, don't you think? The Bobster wrote:I really hate watching this team sometimes. They make some of the most idiotic plays.

Not sure what Kieff did to earn back rotation minutes, or what Teletovic did to lose them, but let's go back to how it was. Even against the Pelicans, where he was supposedly back to his old self, he needed 13 shots to get 13 points.

I'n not sure what anybody has to do to win or lose minutes on this team.Shabazz wrote:Not sure what Kieff did to earn back rotation minutes, or what Teletovic did to lose them, but let's go back to how it was. We have to lead the league in turnovers out of a timeout. It probably isn't even close.

We probably lead the league in a lot of turnover related categories...

Markieff got 15 minutes? And in those 15, he had 5 turnovers. Ugh. What a collapse. This is a dumb team on multiple levels. I hate watching guys play who don't seem to know what they are doing out there. So frustrating.

I love my Suns! Full of promising young players improving each minute with excellent mentoring by the veterans and a young coach who has a great vision ! This is my team!! Go Suns!!
Re: Game Day: Bucks (10-18) @ Suns (12-16), Sun 12/20/15
We collectively don't have a high basketball IQ. We have streaky scorers and shooters. We don't play above average defense for 48 minutes. We're neither a running team nor a half court team, so no real identity. We don't have reliable offense or a reliable go-to scorer.
Thus, some games we'll win. Some we'll lose.

It's a 36-win team. But there's an outside chance the Suns could stumble into the playoffs, which is the last thing they need...

I'm not sure it helps us much to pick 14th rather than, say, 16th. I would not mind going to the playoffs even if we were just the 8 seed swept by the Warriors.LazarusLong wrote:It's a 36-win team. I still think a good coach could beat some discipline into these guys. The problem is you can't just hire a good coach mid season. At least it is unlikely that a good coach would take up a bad team mid season.
The thing I'm really scared of at this point is a knee jerk reaction trade. Where we ship out young talent for mediocre vets in the hopes that we make the playoffs. That could set us back a lot.
Trade Kieff if something attractive comes along and then just ride this out to the off season. In the off season throw money at a real coach until he accepts.

I agree that a coach that can teach more traditional halfcourt basketball and defense would serve us well.
I don't think we'll make a bad trade though. Our front office isn't the type to make a trade just to make one or try and make a splash.

What about what we did at the last deadline, giving up a potentially super valuable 1st rounder for the highly questionable 1/3 season of Brandon Knight?
