This account posted about the same interview, and I think it doesn't have the login requirement:

And I believe Gillespie actually has one more gear (at least) to develop. Now we have a taste of what teams feel when they pull a McConnell, Pritchard, etc.

This doesn’t seem great. Maybe not getting enough attention in the Sunsphere.

I really think this news about UWM is bad times for Ishbia. He seems to have made some risky and bad investments that fell apart. And now he's had to take on emergency consultant help from Oaktree, who in turn have asked for some pretty strict terms he has to obey, such as offering them hundreds of millions of dollars to help him save his company, and they can even compel him to sell some of his ownership stake over the next several months. This is a big deal, not just a little stock market blip.

What do you recommend? Should we all gnash our teeth and run around yelling that the sky is falling?

Billionaire problems, am I right?

FT has some more details about Ishbia's financial troubles. "To buy the Suns, JP Morgan lent Mat Ishbia $2.3 billion secured on stock -- which has since lost 90% of its value"

Sounds like margin call time.

What do I recommend to us? I don't know. Talk about it as a group like we do all other Suns related issues?

I saw this post and it had me wondering..

I don't believe it's a Suns related issue, hasn't affected anything.

He kind of has to sell off a stake in the Suns, doesn't he. Mistakes compound, unfortunately. Not a great time to have a PR problem on the roster. The chances of a Bridges extension just went down. I just hope he doesn't end off having to sell off a Maluach or Fleming for cash.

Even though I think he looked decent for us at times and was a good value signing, it's hard to see how he fit in to the rotation after we drafted Peat. I wonder if his knee is not fully healed considering he was never cleared after he hurt it again.

The Suns have reported waived Haywood Highsmith, freeing up a roster spot.

Any thoughts what they might have planned for that roster spot? I liked Highsmith a lot as an end of the bench guy.

11 million savings in Luxury Tax, supposedly. All of a sudden, this matters.

Supposedly $1 million of his $3 million salary was guaranteed. So they're saving $10 by waiving him, $11 million of somebody clams him. I think it's actually good for Highsmith, he can sign with someone like Miami for the minimum, make about the same amount of money and get more playing time.
