It’s a sensitive topic for me, because here in the UK we have an increasingly authoritarian left wing government, the most unpopular of all time, with the least popular prime minister of all time, and he’s spent the last week trying to get Canada and Australia to all agree to ban X because he is getting absolutely pounded on there, post after post after post, because of his policies that no one likes.
On the back of one relatively minuscule issue where other AI can do the exact same thing anyway (just with more safeguards that grok is now introducing, as mentioned).
In other words, it’s the one platform that’s holding the PM to account (where he has been community noted 20 times or so).
Canada said no though, and that was that, but that’s exactly why x is so important.
Apologies for the political rant, but hopefully a little less inflammatory as it’s from a UK perspective (where things are getting a little too real over here regarding big brother / censorship - literally 12,000 people were arrested in the last year just for saying things on line, for goodness sake …)
