Don't really agree. There is consensus, there is personal preference and there is a context to what the team actually does. Right after the draft you have an oppinion on what should or shouldn't have happened all things considered. Imagine we pick Markkanen #4. Many would be F'ing right and left, regardless of what kind of player he'd turn into five years down the road.

Sure, we all have opinions but it kinda feels like a student picking a topic for a school project and then the teacher handing them a grade based on their feelings on the topic.

I think we'd all be mad if the Suns took markkanen 4th and I'm sure some F's would get thrown around, but if he's a 25 PPG scorer in 5 years, we would all have been completely wrong.

I guess you can grade teams on how much value they got out of their picks. If Boston was really going to draft Tatum/Jackson at 1 and will still get there guy at 3 plus added another high pick, then they did amazingly. However, if Fultz end up a top 10 player and Tatum is just ok, then maybe they didn't do so amazing after all.

I just don't think it is silly, unless silly means useless, which it is because it won't change anything, but that's why we are just fans, no?

I'm not upset by it in anyway. I guess its just a way for us to put a value on our opinion. If we draft Tatum I would be a little disappointed as in my opinion we'd be leaving better players on the board, so I'd give it like a C. Then if he wins rookie of the year or becomes a superstar, I'd have to change my grade. In reality, we are just guessing because we really don't know how these guys are going to turn out. So it just seems silly to give a draft pick a grade before he's ever played. I guess it's just important to realize the grade reflects the graders opinion on the selection, not the actual grade or ranking of the player which can't be determined until years later.

Yep, nothing wrong with giving our opinion on our draft immediately. It's just a first impression based on the knowledge that we have at the time. What else are we going to talk about?

The Brandon Knight trade and extension.

I think this is more appropriate.

Please no! I'm trying to blot that from my mind. I tried to stay positive but it could only last so long. I am done with him. DONE, I tell ya! :)

Ha! You did try and stay really positive on him a long, long time. You might have beat Nodack on the positivity meter for that guy.

A grade is just a quick and easy way to express an initial reaction to what a team did. Nothing more. It's not a guarantee of anything.

Hopefully if Chriss has a good second season, INF will upgrade him to an F+!

He never said any player was an F. He said the draft was an F. Meaning he thought the Suns failed in what they could have done at the time. That isn't the same as saying Chriss sucks.

Very true. Although I certainly was no fan of Chriss as a prospect; I am still not crazy about him.
