We're lucky this game is tied. Ayton is sleep walking.
This. I'm caught up at half time.

Bridges just left Duncan Robinson to challenge a DJJ corner 3...got lucky Duncan missed on the swing.

Suns' starters had better wake the F up in the second half!

Ayton gets Crowder on him and missed a middy. Adebayo takes it right at Ayton and gets the and-1

Ok, maybe we’ve figured this out. Stop trying to feed Ayton in the post, just dump it to him in the PNR or when the defense collapses on our drivers. He can finish.

Ayton with a lay in and a dunk. He's only good for easy baskets. No hustle or toughness to his game. Just disappointing to see. If it's not served up to him or a jumper/fadeaway, he wilts.

Good off the ball movement with Cam on a cut, Book attacking the basket to keep us in the game. Our defense looks a little better in terms of switching and getting to guys but we're just sticking to all of their screens.

Bam Adebayo has such a spring in his step. Real young star in the making there.
Ayton could learn a lot from him. He’s got all of Bam’s skill with more physical talent.
Ayton could learn a lot from a lot of different guys. Can't think of one matchup he's actually dominated.
He doesn’t really ever dominate 1-1 matchups. His post game is too fade-away centric. He’s a good finisher in the pick n roll, but that’s a 2 on 2 play at least and the ball handler does most of the work. He occasionally flashes a quick dribble move from the high or mid post, but usually just takes that middy. He is an elite offensive rebounder. From what I’ve seen today though, maybe he should just pop to 3. Give Book more space.

I like Ayton. He’s got Hall of Fame potential, but he needs to decide what he is offensively. Does he want to be a difference maker or just a role playing efficient finisher.
And all of that should have been addressed before he starts worrying about being a 3-point shooter.

Agreed. Just saying with how he’s played today, we’d be better off having him spread the court...just get out the way.

Maybe I should have started the "upgrade from Jevon Carter to Shaq Harrison" talk sooner; clearly I gave him some motivation.

Ayton looked more alert on his first defensive possession than he did all game
Ended with him n Cam teaming up to block Olynyk and then he hustled down the court looking for an alley
Here comes the big DA finish

We can't throw ally-oops and he can't catch them.

I didn't hate the 3guard lineup actually. We wasted about 3-4 possession where could've built a cushion. Need to pull away.
