Phxsuns.net is dead, long live phx-suns.net!
Re: Phxsuns.net is dead, long live phx-suns.net!
There are so many memories from the old site, and it's great we're creating some new ones here. I was pretty lost for a while there for my Suns fix.
Supe, on the old site we had a fantasy bball comp. Do you think we'll run the first ever phx-suns.net competition this season?

Sure, we can just keep the same one going. I guess it's time to put it in motion.Gladiator wrote:Supe, on the old site we had a fantasy bball comp. Do you think we'll run the first ever phx-suns.net competition this season?

Well, so much for hopes and dreams ...
Re: Phxsuns.net is dead, long live phx-suns.net!
You guys are bringing me back to so many good memories, too. The Digital City message board was my very first one. I found the board by accidentally around 2000 when I was just surfing around the net to searching for the Phoenix Suns and Penny’s update. The site got crazy sometimes. I read so many meaningless hate towards the Suns organizations and Suns fans. Ladmo was one of the persons used to defending the Suns from them. And I got to know Ladmo at the site and he introduced me to the old phxsuns.net around mid of 2001. And I was immediately hooked on to the site.
I didn’t know anything about AZCentral message board until someone on the board mentioned about Cubby and that board. So I stopped by there and I was shocked to find out that that crazy guy was using my screen name, YGR, to make lots of disrespectful and distasteful threads. I was visibly shaking and angered, the words can’t explain how I felt that moment. Of course, Ladmo took immediate actions by posting at the AZCentral site to defend my identity. That was unpleasant memories, but I also received a lot of encouragement and support from the members of net, that includes Laz, that time was Dusty Chap and AIG was SpiveyIsGod, Dan H, England Sun, Jed, TripleB and many more, thank you again.
MEE was very special person to me, also. She was the nicest person I’ve gotten to know on this site. Even during her own personal health issues, she always provided us with words of encouragement; she was truly one of a kind and touched us all in a very special way. I’ll cherish her memories forever.
I also miss SherD and ReedyKat. We, Penny fans got tortured constantly back then, but it was so much fun. Unlike me, these ladies have very high basketball IQ and used to post witted comments.
Mori - thank you again for the new site. It’s nice to see many good old familiar posters and new members.
I should have registered here with my old user name YGR, but it’s already to late… YGR is my real initial. Ganachan is my school days nickname and most of my friends still calling me Ganachan that came from my maiden name.
Sose – If you are reading, thank you for everything you have done for us. I hope you are doing well and I wish you all the best.

I remember when I was SpiveyIsGod. He sure was a star player for the longest time (half a season) with the Dbacks! Propelling athletes to God status a little quickly over here with my Aliases. Many of us go way back. The memories have been great, even with the occasional barb here and there.
What is smallball? I play basketball. I'm not a regular big man. I can switch from the center to the guards. The game is evolving. I'd be dominAyton if the WNBA would let me in. - Ayton

BigD runs fantasy football and he used to run .net rookie fantasy bball (an overflow league). I've been running the "vet" league. Yes, he's here. I wouldn't mind him taking over management of the vet league. I'll get it started and then see if he's interested in taking it over.LazarusLong wrote:Wasn't it Big Drawls that used to run it? I think I would be repeating the same sentiment of what has already been said here. I don't post a ton, but I read almost everyday and appreciate this site, the old site, and everyone on here for their takes, opinions, and posts. It's a great Suns community here!

I was a lurker on the original phxsuns.net since about 2005 I think, I was barely out of middle school if I remember correctly. I would enjoy reading your guy's comments every day after school, after big wins or bad losses and the 2004-05 season was chock-full of great memories. That website and now this one is best forum to talks Suns and probably anything basketball related in my opinion. Plain and Simple you guys are awesome and kept up the good work you all! Also thank you Mori for saving me from having to read realgm on a regular basis. There are some good posters there but damn is that place full of trolls, it is basically the internet forum equivalent of Gotham City.

I joined in 2003. I was a Junior in College. Although, I've never met any of you I feel like I know most of your personalities. It's kind of like an RPG video game of some sorts or a comic book. It's like I could always turn it on and follow the new story line and see who MisterRadiant pissed off that day. Kind of neat. Oh, and the basketball talk was good to!

After binge watching all of East Bound and Down over the course of 1 week of travel, I appreciate your avatar so much more, djy2j.
Re: Phxsuns.net is dead, long live phx-suns.net!
I remember when Sose first made phxsuns.net, he said on the old AzCentral board that it would be a private site with closed registration, but that he had made accounts for several of us regulars. I tried to go log in as "Mori Chu" and found that there was no such account. I got really sad, because despite the fact that I posted on AzC all the time, it seemed Sose hadn't made an account for me or didn't want to let me be on his new site. But then I emailed him and I discovered that he'd made one for me, just that he'd called it "Mori_Chu" with an underscore.

If there are spots available I'd play as well.
As for phxsuns.net, I never posted a lot, but I joined back in 03 or 04 and went through a rough year last year when I couldn't talk suns ball with anyone. Not living in AZ anymore made it harder. So thanks to Mori for bringing it back!

OK. I will join in. I came to Phxsuns.net from the azcentral board, as miserable a place as that was. So I think I was here (there) at the very beginning. I don't post alot, but always read.

Did you update the look to match each season? That would have been truly amazing.

That was UO. Last I heard he's working in the NBA somewhere.JCSunsfan wrote:OK. I will join in. I came to Phxsuns.net from the azcentral board, as miserable a place as that was. So I think I was here (there) at the very beginning. I don't post alot, but always read.

The original UO (there's also "UODucks4life", but UO - originally "UnrelentingOrder" - was the original UO. Clear as mud, right?Superbone wrote:That was UO. Who was that SOB who chimed in every year about Jason Kidd being a "flawed player" or somesuch? He only had the one phrase - about as pathetic a troll as you'd ever seen.
Re: Phxsuns.net is dead, long live phx-suns.net!
PLM. "Jason Kidd is a terribly flawed player" or something like that. Always thought he was someone's joke account.
Re: Phxsuns.net is dead, long live phx-suns.net!
THAT was what I was trying to think of! That was PLM that would chime in once a year to drop that "knowledge" on us. Something about Jason Kidd being a flawed but complementary player or something like that.SwingMan wrote:The original UO (there's also "UODucks4life", but UO - originally "UnrelentingOrder" - was the original UO.
