Agreed. There were flashes in there that you could see he just knew exactly what to do. And I don't mean flashes like we used to see with Robin Lopez that would be 1 play/game. He is very smart defensively.

It's still early in the season. Don't give up on the rest of the team just jet.
I do like what the Kids are doing in the D-League and i do think it would be nice to give them some burn in the big leagues now and then. Archie should soon be back in the Rotation too. Last year he gave us some nice energy off the bench.

Archie needs the DLeague more than Ennis and Warren. Those are college vets who know how to play. Warren could average 50 if we he wanted to. Archie needs to get some run.

Yeah, it's weird that Archie hasn't been sent down. He seems the most raw of all 3 of our young padawans.

Agreed, I just was wondering why they didn't set Goodwin as well. Poor kid is becoming a footnote in the roster, most likely trade material before the year ends.

Isn't there a limit in the CBA as to how many times you can send a guy down to the D-League (based on years of service or something)?

Yes, you are correct, but he has not being on D-League even once this year.

Yep. I found this:
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source= ... ulbQWBE2Eg
NBA Assignments: NBA teams can assign players who are rookies or in their second season to their D-League affiliate. Players can stay with the D-League affiliate for as long as the NBA team wishes, and be recalled back to the NBA at any time.
NBA teams can assign players as many times as they choose. For the second season, NBA players in the first three years of their NBA careers may be assigned to their NBA D-League affiliate an unlimited number of times, according to the NBA Collective Bargaining Agreement, while for the third consecutive year, players beyond the first three years of their NBA careers may be assigned to their NBA D-League affiliate with their consent and the consent of the NBA Players Association. Last season, the NBA D-League saw veterans Amar’e Stoudemire (New York Knicks, Erie BayHawks) and Keyon Dooling (Memphis Grizzlies, Reno Bighorns) take advantage of NBA D-League assignments to rehabilitate injuries or further develop their games.

So, basically, he could be down there getting experience but we're just keeping him with the team to not play.

Yep. You never know--maybe we will run out of guards one game...

Contracts aside, what's our best lineup or best potential lineup? We know what worked last year with Dragic and Green in the backcourt when Bledsoe was out. We know things are shaky this year with our 3 guards and frontcourt. So what's the ideal rotation, even with a guy like TJ Warren in the mix?

I personally prefer Green off the bench. And I want to see TJ more. And Len. Late in the game yesterday I think we had: Goran, Bleds, TJ, Markieff, and Len. I would like to see more of it, but I think it gives a nice balance. I think someone might have already said the same thing. That would mean we have a bench of IT, Green, PJ, Marcus, and Plumlee as our other 5. But honestly, I don't expect us to play 10 guys significant minutes. So someone is going to lose out.

When IT and Green share the floor, it will be tough for anyone else to put up numbers. The two combine for more than 37 FGA/36 minutes. It is what it is, but I think having garbage men like Plumlee and Tucker on the floor with them makes sense. If Warren is the 5th guy in that lineup he'll never touch the ball.

Agreed. How do you think Marcus would fare with those guys?

With both? Marcus would get frozen out, IMO.

Everyone will. My question was more about how he would fare without getting a pass.

Probably the same.
It's tricky. On balance, our best lineup may be Goran/Bled/Tucker/Markieff/Len, but that leaves us with 4 bench players (GG, IT, Warren, Marcus) that are all scorers and only one ball for them to share in limited minutes. Not to mention that unit's lack of defense.

TJ is solid offensive rebounder and actually would do OK in that group. He'd have a steady diet of missed shots to put back/convert from offensive rebounds. Not a bad gig for a rookie.
