One could argue it even suggests the contrary.

Markieff is more Shareef Abdur-Rahim than Ricky Mahorn.
And that's not bad, because Abdur-Rahim was a solid offensive player ...

I guess I shouldn't be too condemnatory; from this quote it appears he's a fellow fan of the hyperbole.
To me that means Teague over everyone "else" meaning everyone else not on that list. Which is a weird way of saying he's in the upper tier of PGs now. But maybe not.
It is certainly worded strangely, but I read it that way too Carey.

I wish he was as good as Reef. 20/10 would be a welcome change.

+1000

I was a huge Abdur-Rahim fan when he was with the Grizzlies.

Thanks for the clarification, carey. I think you're probably right.

And even under that interpretation, I still have an issue with that claim. I know I'm not taking Teague over Goran (but maybe he's no longer considered a point guard), and I'm probably not taking him over Ty Lawson.

I'd take him over Bledsoe, but only because of the money.

SAR came out of college much more polished, to be sure.
Markieff's shot has improved dramatically in the past season or so.
He just needs to redirect the energy he expends in woofing into rebounds ...

Teague benefits from how good Atlanta has been. Switch Teague with Lawson and Atlanta is just as good, if not better.

Cleveland leads Charlotte 68-30 with 3:58 left in the second period.

Ouch.

I'm right there with you. I thought Dickerson had the talent and physical tools to be special. I hate how injuries did him in.

Yeah, INF, he's not a max player.

My apologies, Klay.

No player in the history of the NBA has got as hot as Klay was in that quarter. Super impressive stuff from him

Gervin's record of 33 in a quarter too place on the last day of the 1977-78 season when he was fighting it out with David Thompson for the scoring title (he finished the game with 63, Thompson scored 73 that night).

The amazing thing about Thompson's game is that it came in the flow of the game - not in an effort to pad stats.

Bill Simmons's latest article had a good term: "market max player." That is, since the cap is going up so much with the new TV deal pending, there are guys who are worth the current max. I think Klay is a max player by that definition. He's one of the best couple of 2-guards in the NBA, too, so I think you can make a case that he's a "max player" regardless of the cap being about to rise or TV deals.
