crowd boo'ed majerle when he was drafted, and nash wasn't really celebrated until we signed him back in free agency... marion and amare are the only two real home grown players...

on the other hand bledsoe and knight are also transplants, so i see your point, dr...

People regularly complained about KJ not being able to stay on the court.

As pickle said, people booed Majerle, and didn't celebrate Nash until his 2nd stint here (and many said we held onto him too long).

Amare--really? People were bitching about his lack of rebounding when he had the ability to dominate on the glass (myself included).

Barkley--after 4 years here people were begging to get rid of him.

Marion--how many people on this board bitched about Marion being too soft, not taking it to the hoop like in his early days, and whining about not getting enough credit?

Maybe in hindsight it looks like everyone was happy with these guys, but in the day-to-day world, there is always something that can get better, with every player, and fan(atics) focus on those areas where the team can improve. They obsess about them. That's what makes them fan(atics).

Amar'e and Marion used to catch crap all the time. Marion more than anyone in recent memory. Zarko had like 3 good games and people were ready to trade Marion. "He's not a good shooter, he's making max money when he shouldn't be, we'll never win with him as PF, he complains about not getting plays run for him".

With Amar'e, it was always his defense, his rebounding, his potential for injury...

Marion was a very good player who sulked when Amare and Nash were getting accolades. I understand why, but smart management and coaching should have handled it better, e.g. constantly praising his defense and rebounding work.

Many turned on Jason Kidd after the incident with his then wife. Yes, he shouldn't have slapped her. Turns out she was abusive in her own way. Kidd had a number of very good years with the Suns; the way he exited was unpleasant.

KJ was always hurt, Majerle was inconsistent, Nash and Amare didn't play D, Barkley was a ball-stopper, Chambers was turnover prone, Marion was a pouter.

It was constant.

Remember the days when we had to deal with Penny, Googs, [CENSORED], Livingston and Cubby? It's depressing to realize those were the good old days.
