Trade Deadline 2016
Re: TRADE DEADLINE 2016
To be fair weren't there decent stretches of games where Nash wouldn't shoot the ball because of his back. I seem to remember him working really hard to make sure he didn't end up taking an outside shot.
Not saying Rubio is the next Nash. Far from it. I'm just saying an offense can work without a good shooting point guard. It isn't ideal but it can work.

tyson chandler and keef for kevin love can work.Mori Chu wrote:I'd love (heh) for the Suns to try to flip Markieff, PJ, plus maybe a pick (not our own 2016 pick!) for Kevin Love. His value is low right now and the Cavs seem a tad desperate to make a move.

Re: TRADE DEADLINE 2016
Why would Cleveland want Chandler? he's virtually useless against the Warriors and thats who they are trying to match. Kieff makes a lot more sense for them but it would have to include other pieces probabaly from other teams.

Re: TRADE DEADLINE 2016
Ah, being back to no-Twitter land sucks. Can't see a lot of the rumors you guys are posting.
On the Rubio topic, I understand Mori's position, but I don't love Rubio. Over the last couple of years I've basically gotten to the point where Inf has been from a couple of years ago... I wouldn't really make a move that doesn't eventually contribute to us becoming a serious championship contender. Yes, Rubio is a sweet passing pg who is completely unselfish and plays very solidly on the defensive end, but his shooting woes are a serious issue and, while he is only 25, he's been playing professional since his teenage years and if he hasn't fixed that shot by now, will he ever? I guess Kidd is an example of someone finding a shot in his later years, but at this point I would say Rubio is a finished product. If he can be had for a reasonable amount, I would like to get him him, for the reasons Mori mentioned -- I'd love to see unselfish basketball in the valley again, and hopefully that rubs off on other players and rights the chemistry and gives us hope. If they would take Knight, for instance, and dump Kmart and Rubio on us, I can live with that. But if we give up real assets, then I'm not terribly interested.
I have no interest in Love whatsoever. Or Griffin. We have a few promising players who are barely breaking 20, I'd like to get some prospects and not go after established stars right now. Anyone that is about 26 and beyond will be entering their prime and will unnecessarily accelerate our development curve.
Don't like Tobias Harris, another guy who can't defend worth a damn. Am intrigued by Aaron Gordon very much but as others have said, that's probably a pipe dream.

chandler still has the quickness to cover perimeter guys. if a tall guy like chandler cant do it, nobody his size can.Sunsfan4life wrote:Why would Cleveland want Chandler? he's virtually useless against the Warriors and thats who they are trying to match. So if, heaven forbid, Curry has a career ending injury tomorrow or dies in a freak car accident he's already the best shooting PG of all time?Shabazz wrote:So does volume.carey wrote:Longevity matters.Shabazz wrote:Really?carey wrote: For real? Re: TRADE DEADLINE 2016
It depends what we're talking about. I think his ability to shoot the ball, right now, is better than anyone else's, ever. No one's ever combined his volume and accuracy, especially from deep.carey wrote:So if, heaven forbid, Curry has a career ending injury tomorrow or dies in a freak car accident he's already the best shooting PG of all time?Shabazz wrote:So does volume.carey wrote:Longevity matters.Shabazz wrote:Really?carey wrote: For real? Re: TRADE DEADLINE 2016
Also, my "really?" was more about your 50/40/90 barometer for measuring greatness. It's a neat statistical feat because of the round numbers, but is a .500/.400/.900 season more impressive than Curry's .487/.443/.914 season last year? It also doesn't capture context. Meyers Leonard shot .510/.420/.938 last year, but as a 4th option and on few attempts from the field and the line. Curry plays every game with the defense game-planned around his ability to shoot and he still puts up video game numbers.

hopefully, it'd be more like the bledoe dragic combo than dragic wade.TheOriginalOriginal wrote:I'd laugh. Him and Harden would be a mess.Sunsfan4life wrote:Rumor being floated around involving Hawks-Heat-Rockets 3 way trade involving Howard/Hortford and....Dragic!
Doubt it happens but would be pretty funny if Dragic got traded back to Houston less then a year after he basically handpicked Miami.

Re: TRADE DEADLINE 2016
http://espn.go.com/blog/marc-steinThe youth-laden Magic have made it known they are in the market for veterans as they continue to slide out of playoff contention. Sources say Orlando has been willing to discuss the prospect of moving some of its more familiar names, including former No. 2 overall pick Victor Oladipo and the recently re-signed Tobias Harris.

for who? bledsoe or knight?INFORMER wrote:Oladipo!
Re: TRADE DEADLINE 2016
Have we figured out whether Oladipo is a PG or SG yet? I think they were trying to play him at PG but he isn't much of a distributor, right? I am not sure I have much interest in Dipo if we have Booker on the team unless Dipo could be an elite passing/defending PG. If not, why not just stick with Bledsoe?
Re: TRADE DEADLINE 2016
Just taking the temperature because I don't like Tobias but...
Knight, Kieff, Tucker for Oladipo, Harris, & Watson?
