If I had a vote, I would get no-trade clauses banned in the next CBA. They are stupid and pointless and shouldn't exist. I would similarly ban trade "kickers" where a player's salary goes up if he gets traded.

I am for keeping Beal. See what he can do without Durant screwing up the culture by being a ball hog, or at least insisting on dominating the offense. He has sacrificed his game and I am curious, not furious.

At least...increase his trade value by mid-season.

Not cool with waiving and stretching Beal, but if we can’t find a trade for him, then Grayson and Royce need to go for as many draft assets as we can get or a bigger rotation Wing. I don’t care if that means we are “selling low” of Grayson and Royce. We cannot go into another season with half the roster being damn shooting guards again.

How do you rebuild Beal with Jalen Green still here? And Grayson?

Let’s say the roster doesn’t change much and you have to give these guys(Booker, Beal, Green, Allen, Gillespie) minutes at guard…there’s 96, so how do you break it down? And how much do you push them to the 3 to take minutes away from Brooks/O’Neale/Dunn?

Booker - 36, Gillespie - 12(I’m not running any of the other guys at the 1)
Beal - 24, Green - 24

Then give Allen 18 at the 3?

Brooks - 18, Allen - 18, Royce - 12

Now all of Dunn’s minutes gotta come at the 4 and probably some for Brooks.

Dunn - 24, Brooks - 6, Fleming - 18

And that’s assuming no FA signings or any 2 big lineups. Definitely 1 too many SGs.

Take Beal away and…

Booker 36, Gillespie 12
Green 30, Allen 18
Brooks 24, O’Neale 18, Dunn 6
FA 24, Dunn 18, Fleming 6
Williams 24, Maluach 18, Fleming 6

I would like to keep Oso and let him be one of ours back up centers but if I have to include him to trade Beal then you have to do it. I’m so sorry, Oso.

Another option…ditch Beal, ditch Royce, trade Grayson for a 4(PJ Wash) Sign a PG(Russ or CP3)

CP3/Russ - 20, Gillespie -16, Booker - 12
Booker - 24, Green - 24
Brooks - 24, Dunn - 24
Washington - 24, Fleming - 18, Oso - 6
Williams - 28, Maluach - 20

As it currently stands, I think Fleming starts over Dunn due his size and shooting.

I’m just not sure he’s ready for that…but we’ll find out.

I don’t see why not. Dunn was way bigger question mark coming into his rookie season than Fleming is and he did fine for the most part. Fleming has right size and a NBA ready body and defense right now, plus good shooting touch. My preference is trading for a starting 4 using Beal or Grayson but if that doesn’t happen, I think I’d prefer Fleming starting.

Dunn played at Virginia against top competition. Fleming played at a mid-major against teams like Fordham, George Mason, Duquesne, etc. Not knocking those teams or players but the level of comp just isn't the same. Hopefully he can contribute but asking him to start is a bit of a reach right now.

Agree with Shel…I like what Fleming brings to the table in theory, but we don’t know what his learning curve will be. Dunn was a ready made good defensive wing who did it against great competition…he’s also now got a year of experience in the nba and another off season to work on his body/shot. I prefer someone else altogether as well, but I’d be surprised if we went Fleming over Dunn if we don’t have another option.

If you can attach O'Neale to Richards in a deal for a PF who could start and play 20+ non-shitty minutes a game that'd be a big win.

It all depends on what you’re trying to accomplish. If we aren’t a playoff contender, then it doesn’t matter how many games we win, and I would start the young guys:

PG Booker
SG Green
SF Dunn
PF Fleming
C Maluach

Let them develop and see what they’ve got.

Well we might not think it matters, but it will matter to Ott and Booker.

Can we just trade them for space to get an MLE of some sort and then sign Yabusele for a year or 2 while Fleming develops?

That would be my choice…unless we can get Collins for Grayson/Royce

Feels like we just drafted a John Collins type, you should be over the moon 😂

True, Fleming could profile like Collins someday. I would be thrilled if he turned into 80% or Collins on offense and 120% on defense
