That's not too bad, much better than an ACL. Hopefully he gets back soon

Poor Curry. That really sucks. At least it is "just" sprained and not torn. I don't know how serious the sprain is or how long he'll be out, but that is bad for them. You might have to sit the guy for the rest of the playoffs.

But if he can even remotely play, you just know they are going to rush him back a liiiiiittle bit too quickly. That next series against the Clippers, to say nothing of the impending Spurs series, just got way more interesting.

I know that the injury was caused by a freak accident on a puddle of sweat on the floor, supposedly. But I have to think that his body would not be so fragile if he had gotten more rest at the end of the season rather than chasing a wins record.

I don't think a few minutes made a difference. A sprained ligament isn't really an overuse injury. They just kinda happen. And I know this is just arguing semantics, but a torn ligament and a sprain are the same thing. Although media tend to only use torn when the ligament is completely torn, aka a 3rd degree sprain. Hopefully that's not the case here, although that'd still be better than an acl

It's such a bummer when a player wrecks his knees or any part of his legs. You just never totally know if he'll ever be the same player afterward. I don't mean to overreact, but literally we may have seen the best of Stephen Curry already.

He'll be fine in time. An MCL sprain like his isn't a severe injury, especially since it doesn't require surgery. This injury alone definitely won't affect his career in the long term.

I think we'll see him back sometime in round two. I think he'll be out of practice for at least a week and then start to test it out.

If the Clippers and Warriors both close out their respective series on Wednesday, I suppose the quarterfinal could begin on Sunday. In that case, I think he'd be back for game 3 or 4.

Jaysus. Talk about jumping to conclusions. Lets at least let him have the MRI tomorrow.
Go Suns!

The Warriors don't need Curry to beat HOU or LAC/POR in my opinion. It'll be a hard fought series for the latter, but they are still more talented and deeper than the Clippers or the Blazers.

Montiejunas went down right in front him and slid on his back. You could see the streak on the court and then Steph stepped right into it. It was a freak thing and unrelated to how much he played during the season. I still thought he should have sat out this series after the ankle sprain as I don't think they need him to win it. They showed that in the second half of this game.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Curry has been remarkably healthy considering all the ankle problems he had earlier in his career. Plus, he didn't play a lot of minutes this year, so anyone who thinks it was anything more than that wet spot on the floor is grasping for straws.

Agreed, MCL is nothing compared to an ACL, it's more like spraining an ankle.

I think he's still out a minimum 10-14 days. It'd probably be a 2-4 weeks if it were the regular season. I also don't think the PT during the season had anything to do with it, tho some will want to believe that.

I also think sometimes that it just takes a younger player a few years to get used to the rigors of the NBA, let their body develop, grow into their bodies, and get the "grown man strength".

Kind of sad seeing all these ex Suns castoff players playing in the Playoffs for different teams while the Suns are all out fishing.
In four years, you don’t have to vote again. We’ll have it fixed so good, you’re not gonna have to vote.

It was inevitable. With all the roster turnover the Suns have had in the last few years, there are ex-Suns everywhere.

It's interesting that Gerald Green can't get into a game for Miami.

This doesn't surprise me at all.

I know he was here for just half a season so he was never really ours, but the Isaiah Thomas signing and trade were both genius and buffoonery. I've been a huge fan of Thomas since he came into the league, was thrilled when we signed him and thought his deal was maybe the best in the league, and then we traded him for a Bledsoe/Knight backcourt. He was the keeper. Yea he's undersized, yea he needs his shots and yea he's not a pure/pass first guard, but he's a basketball player through and through. He's the kind of guy we envision Bledsoe and Knight being. A guard who can do everything and can be put in the backcourt with complimentary guards like Turner and Smart (who I loved coming out of OK State).

Obviously it was a mistake to swap Thomas for Knight (yeah, I know, not directly) after Dragic had already forced his way out. On the other had, Thomas might have kept us in our usual mediocrity just outside of the playoffs and at the bottom of the lottery.

But we'd still have the Lakers pick.
