Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard will get a second opinion on his injured right knee and could miss extended time, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

As the Rockets embarked on a two-game Eastern Conference trip to Boston and Detroit on Thursday, Howard traveled elsewhere to get further evaluation on his swollen knee,
What's the rumor? That he needs micro fracture?

So the game consists of 22-23 players who are having great seasons, and one or two players the fans just wanted for reasons that may go beyond objective excellence on the court that season. This is a problem?

Yeah, well specifically that the Rockets FO were concerned that he needs it. That's all I heard.

Lakers and Bulls are going into double overtime. Looks like they might be a little tired tomorrow to play the Suns.

Shhh. Mention nothing of this. A pox on your house if you jinx us DK.

Also, looks like ol' Jaques may be out of a job soon.

Best case scenario in the Bulls game. Bulls get tired out, Lakers increase our pick odds.

Nice win by the Lakers. Aaron Brooks just got tossed...Not sure for what. Hope he didn't grab his nuts again and point at an official like he did in Phoenix haha.

What is the NBA All-Star Game? A reward for players having the best season or a game for fans to see their favorite players? Who knows?

Derek Rose followed up his 13 for 33 shooting night with a 7 for 26 night. (Very Kobesque!)

Did you mean one of the best?

Lebron surely has him beat on this one.

At worst he's the second best player, though 'bazz will probably argue Anthony Davis has surpassed him.

Not that I put a lot of stock on PER, but it is worth mentioning that if the season ended now Davis would achieve the highest mark ever.

I still see LeBron as the best player, though. The only chink in his armor is his own psychological approach to the game.

I think it's kind of BS that Durant makes it in as an All-Star after playing in only 21 / 45 games this year. But to be fair, the league has no official minimum of games played to be eligible as far as I know. If we are upset about it, the right thing to do would be to say that you have to play in 1/2 or 2/3 of your team's games. But the league will never do that.

The All-Star game is mostly just a popularity contest anyway, so we shouldn't put a lot of stock into who gets in. Durant getting in (and guys like Lillard / DeMarcus Cousins not getting in) is kind of BS, but it's just a dumb exhibition game anyway.

Cousins should have been named to the squad. That is probably the most glaring omission.

I think the league would say both, but if they had to pick they would go with the latter.

Hasn't there been instances of guys being voted on that hadn't played a game all year?

Lebron is sucha D-Bag, but I'd still have him as the best player. Durant 2...Davis 3...Curry 4.

Here's a bit more by Woj about Jacque Vaughn's uncertain job status in Orlando.

https://sports.yahoo.com/news/source--m ... 40124.html

I think he's a truly awful coach, but whenever I hear rumors about a coach firing in Jan/Feb, I always think the same two things: (1) Why now? Why did you even enter into this season with such a crappy coach, and then decide to fire him in January? (2) Who are you going to get to replace him?

I have been touting George Karl for New Orleans forever but he would be fun in Orlando with the athletes they have. Payton as a young....well, Payton. Gordon as a young Rainman. Oladipo. Harris. Vucevic. They have some talent on that roster.
