I'd like to see the text that prompted the altercation.

Reportedly that text was sent in 2010. This story just keeps getting more ridiculous.

Hood told police that he and the twins had a "falling out" in 2010. He said, in 2010, one of the Jan. 24 suspects saw Hood's text message to the Morris' mother that he would always be there for her and took it out of context, telling the twins that Hood wanted Angel Morris to be his girlfriend.
How that leads to a beating five years later, I do not understand.

Lawyers for NBA's Morris twins seek a new grand jury
The defense attorneys for Marcus and Markieff Morris have asked a Maricopa County Superior Court judge to return the case to a grand jury because they say prosecutors falsely presented information that led to an indictment on charges of aggravated assault.
Prosecutors presented "false and misleading evidence" and withheld information vital to the case, the Morris twins' attorneys said in motion to return the case to a grand jury to determine whether there is probable cause to indict the NBA players.

I don't mind if we are mediocre/bad again this coming season. Really the only thing that truly worries me is what will happen with Markieff Morris. He could be fine, even improved from last year with fewer distractions around him. Or he could sulk, pout, have a bad attitude, and generally single-handedly wreck the chemistry of the team. It's a total wildcard and I don't like the uncertainty of the whole situation.

He's just an employee - I don't give a shit what he wants. Same as his brother. Neither one has earned any loyalty. If it's in the Suns' best interest they should get rid of him too.

Listening to Gambo & he said, "My sources tell me he (Markieff) doesn't want to play here anymore. (Sic) It's time to stop babying these guys. Call this guy's bluff. You're going to lose $1M every 10 games. He's not a 20 & 10 guy. He's not that good. Don't wanna be here? Sit. We have 2 other PFs we'll give them the opportunity."
They are saying he should have distanced himself from Marcus. "Hey, my brother doesn't speak for me." But if they know ANYTHING about these guys they should know that was not going to happen. How could Markieff make it difficult? "Come in every day & be a jerk." "Do you think Chandler is going to let him get away with that?" "It's not like Chandler is his father... can't tell him how to behave."

I would rather just get rid of him if they can get equal value.
Let him be somebody else's headache.

This. He's getting paid millions to play a game. Shut the F up and play.
Not only have they not earned any loyalty, it's quite the opposite. These guys think they're tough but they're soft mentally.

This writer is reaching. Putting it on the organization rather than the player:
Report: Markieff Morris becomes the latest Sun to want out of Phoenix
http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on-bas ... of-phoenix
However, if this is part of a greater trend of players not trusting the front office, or of dysfunction inside the locker room, that's a much bigger issue. The Suns have had a lot of turnover, and if this report is accurate, they could be looking at more. All of it inexhaustibly leads to the question: what exactly is going on in Phoenix?
Markieff would be the last of the knuckleheads.

Report: Why Suns may trade Markieff Morris
http://espn.go.com/blog/nba/post/_/id/7 ... eff-morris
From Gerald Bourguet of Valley of the Suns
"Phoenix can’t afford any more locker room turmoil after that exact problem derailed their season last year, so if there’s still bad blood by the time training camp begins, don’t be surprised if (general manager Ryan) McDonough suddenly pulled the trigger on a deal. McDonough usually keeps his moves quiet, but if Markieff Morris wants a trade, that may not be the case here. Keef is a talented offensive player who is only 25 years old and has plenty of room to improve on a bargain of a contract. He has a golden opportunity to be a starter in Phoenix and help a team that should be in the mix for a playoff spot this season. But until we know the potential threat that his discontent poses to the locker room, there’s a chance this relationship could head south pretty quickly."
