Let's not overreact either. For me, the biggest thing is that Bender looks like he belongs. He knows how to play, can matchup athletically, is what was advertised. I was more concerned with Len at this point. Still am.

INF, never mind everyone else and just keep on doing your thing. We might disagree but you always bring a valuable perspective.

This. If everyone agreed, this place would be boring.

Come on guys, we can find a middle ground. It would be mildly amusing, but would lack real emotional engagement. You jerks.

An argument is not just giving a contrary position.

No, it can't. An argument is a connected series of statements intended to establish a proposition.

Look, if I argue with you, I must take up a contrary position.

He's essentially a recently graduated HS Senior.
There's not a HS Senior in America that has gone against the competition and received the coaching that Bender has.
Maybe the data is missing (and/or maybe I am more naïve than I think!), but I see he only played 75 minutes in the Euroleague. Are you saying that he went up against better competition in the junior Croatian league than those American HS super teams? Or just those 75 minutes?

Coaching seems about right, though I am not sure how much time they spent on their youngster that was under contract for 7 more years and was hardly playing.
He played 400 minutes in the Israeli Basketball Premiere League, which is not a junior league.

If we are using that as the definition, it seems we are holding the "contrarian position" to a much higher standard than the original statement. If you don't want to hear "I don't think so" as a response to "I think he will be great", then the latter needs to be backed up. I don't think we want to go down that path every time someone wants to post their thoughts, regardless of whether or not you agree with them.

Fair enough (I didn't see that data).

Or at least a non-equivalent position, which may turn out to be contradictory or informative in nature.
