Archie Goodwin scored 24 points and Mizra Teletovic added 22 to lead the Suns past New Orleans 121-100 on Saturday, giving Phoenix consecutive road victories for the second time this season.

"We've had a lot of injuries and other stuff going on, but we continue to fight through them," Goodwin said. "It just shows the character of this team.

"No matter what's going on, we're staying positive."

Getting hot to close the season might not be the best big-picture scenario for Phoenix (22-58), which could end up hurting its odds in the lottery with victories.

The Suns are also playing under Earl Watson, who's served as interim coach since the firing of Jeff Hornacek on Feb. 1, but there's little expectation he'll be retained.

"That's just not on our minds right now," Goodwin said. "The coaching thing is out of our control and we're going to keep playing hard until the end. That's a big part of being a professional."

Ugh, another likely victory. Bye bye, ping pong balls.

Pedantic Post of the Day

Just to be clear, we don't "win" any more ping pong balls for losing. Everyone is 'fighting' for more ping pong ball combinations, but there are only 14 balls, and no team owns them.

You may now return to your regularly scheduled program.

Are we really going to win this game? Ben McLemore couldn't hit a FT?

James Anderson just iced it for the Kings. Good job, good effort, Suns.

So again, why are the Nets tanking?

I can get not playing Brook Lopez, who has a pretty serious injury history. But Thad Young? I think Danny Ainge may be greasing that wheel a little.

It's certainly sketchy as fuck.

I didn't get to watch - did Alex get bested by Koufos as bad as the box score indicates? Blocked 4 times... his BS numbers have gone way down as his GP have gone up. I know it isn't wise to give up on a big too early, but I'm getting worried.

At worst, we have one of the league's elite rebounders and a solid if unremarkable rim protector. A rotation player, but perhaps not really a core piece... That might actually be best case scenario as well.

On that note, I'd be interested in drafting a project center at the back of the first, and maybe even as high as 12. Skal's got the frame to put on some weight, and he should turn into a true stretch big with the ability to protect the rim. I guess I'm coming around to taking a flyer on him.

For some reason, I doubt Skal will be there at 12.

Even if he is, we're probably picking 13

I have us probably picking 3rd with a decent chance at #1 and just as as much chance at getting #5 along with #12, #28 and #33.

If the planets and gods do line up once for the Suns and we somehow get #1, Simmons would be a coup. I know I'm dreaming but, hitting the Tankathon button over and over nets us the #1 fairly often. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in awhile.

The Suns have a history of great PGs and lousy centers. We got Gortat and I thought he was one of the top centers in Suns history. We didn't think he was worth hanging to. Now we have Len. I think he is doing decent. He looks great and then runs off two stinker games where he can't hit the ocean. Overall I am happy with Len's progress. Dump him now? Not if I'm the owner. That would be extremely short sided and a panic move by an impatient owner.

The iffyiest position we have right now is PG, not Center IMO and there doesn't seem to be a great PG in the draft we could build on. I hope Bledsoe fills that role. He has been more of a SG than a PG as we all know but better than Knight as a PG.

I miss a lot of the guys we let go. Gortat. Frye. Dragic. Gerald Green. I wish we just took care of our guys and held onto our best players. Most of the guys we keep around are junk. It reminds me of the Marbury-era Suns where we let Kidd go and took Marbs and the whole team just felt wrong, felt too "me-tooey", felt like less than the sum of the parts.

But that team only lasted <2.5 years together. I get the feeling we will see more of it this time around.
