Also we could have beat that deal six-ways from Sunday if we chose to, which means we did not choose too. Which also means we are in for the full rebuild. Chances of Bledsoe being moved just increased imho.

I agree that we could have beaten that deal if we had wanted to. I don't know if I agree with the second statement, that the lack of better Suns offer means that we must be doing a full rebuild and will therefore move Bledsoe. Very interesting that this is what Boogie fetched. I kind of figured some team would blow the Kings away with a multiple-first-rounders offer.

Can I just say that this makes it all the more stunning that we got two 1st-round picks for Goran freaking Dragic from the Heat? Compared to this deal, we absolutely fleeced Riley and Miami.

And, while I'm at it: We got freaking two 1st-rounders AND two 2nd-rounders for a 39-year-old (ish) Steve Nash! That is a gosh-darned miracle. Those of you who hate McDo can just take those two trades and go chew on 'em for a while.

Did we? If you ask around Suns forums, Dragic was some sort of legend and trading him was the worst thing we've ever done. We have the oddest fanbase when it comes to overvaluing our ex players.

I think a lot of people here feel both of the following:

(a) Dragic was great, we miss him, we wish we had not alienated him by signing 4 other PGs onto the roster and marginalizing him.

AND

(b) Considering that he became upset and asked to be traded, and we had to get rid of him, being able to acquire 2 1st round picks for him from a mediocre team like Miami was a great haul under the circumstances.

I do not think that it is inconsistent/silly to feel both (a) and (b). That's certainly how I feel about it.

I guess I'll always see Dragic as decent to good, certainly not great. He was a solid PG here, 1 season aberration with his all nba 3rd team. Nothing special though, certainly not a Nash or KJ, but he gets talked about like he was one a perennial all star. Just bugs me.

It's cool you're giving McDonough credit for the Nash deal but no one associated with that deal is still with the team except Sarver.

Incredible that Sacramento agreed to such a pathetic offer. What a joke.

Yeah, I'm really incredulous. Just read the info on my phone and couldn't believe it and came here to see the reactions. Crazy.

This was like a regular trade for a non-star. I still can't get over how easily he was had. Maybe nobody thinks it's worth dealing with his mood swings.

Insanity.

We could have beaten that so easily. AND New Orleans kept top 3 protection on the pick. If we could have done that, I would have given up Len, Chriss, Warren, the pick and more.

I guess we didn't want him. That's the only explanation.

I don't really know if I wanted him either, but for 25 cents on the dollar and If we could keep our own pick if it's top 3, I'd take him and figure the rest out later.

Not even sure I would go for it if only was Booker + 1 pick (mirroring the Pels offer), but the offered leaked to the media looks solid for me, Knight is not a dealbreaker, stop being ridiculous. Maybe Sacramento tried to fleeced us. Some sort of "give me Booker, Chriss, 3 first and M*** M***''s mother cel number or we are done talking". Also would be really helpful to know how much assurances did we received on Cousins accepting an extension here, if there wasn't any, then we did the rigt thing keeping our better assets off the table. Bottom line, if they wanted an King's ransom from us and ended taking less from New Orleans, fine by me, they can choke on that for years to come.

As always, we love to talk and swear, over reacting like we really have the complete picture.

And finally, many people here disliked going for LMA, because it wouldn't move the needle enough. Altough I'm sure Cousins would move it more, would that extra gain be enough to really contend? Hopefully we are committed to stay riding the rebuilding road, instead of going for George or Butler, both of them clearly just enough to drag us into mediocrity, as they do on their current teams. I think that we need TWO stars on Bledsoe's timeline just to mildly contend, so I'm actually happy that we didn't throw all of our assets in a single Star trade.

It will be interesting to see Cousins on another team, but given he's a free agent and his character issues, I can totally understand the FO not wanting to give much for him, especially after all the character issues in the last few years.

Oops, my bad. Thought that was one of McDonough's first moves, but you're right, it predates him.

Wow, what a beating the Kings took on that deal. I am not that high on Heild. I hope he turns into a good player but if he doesn't I won't be surprised. Tyreke Evans is probably finding a way to retire rather than play in Sacramento again.

So is this the year McLemore finally gets traded now also?

I also am not sure how well Cousins and Davis work together. They are obviously 2 great players but this is a guards league now. I don't think it makes them worse by any means, but I'm not sure how much better they get from this. We shall see.

Also, just when you thought Sac couldn't be a bigger mess. Several officials promising Cousins stays and then he gets dealt minutes after the All-Star game.
