2025 NBA Draft Round 2

Post by Superbone »

I figured since Round 2 is on a different night, it should have its own thread.

Round 2 NBA mock draft: Best available players, predictions
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/455 ... redictions

ESPN's mock has us taking Alijah Martin, SG, Florida, senior with pick 52, which I don't see and Ryan Nembhard, PG, Gonzaga, senior, with 59 which I could see despite his small stature.
Synchronicity and all that jazz, man.

Good chance Nembhard isn't available to the Suns though.

Love it, hopefully we can grab a bigger wing/PF.

Can't wait to hear the media, "What are the Suns doing?!?!?! They already had TWO 2nd rounders and now they've gone and acquired a 3rd? While giving up 2 future seconds that will almost assuredly be used to draft AJ Dybantsa. This organization is the worst. Did you know they've had THREE coaches in the last 3 years? How was KD ever supposed to make that work?"

PF is a bigger hole to me, it's very apparent that the team is ok with Booker at PG and probably Gillespie backing him up.

Yeah, I agree. PF is a gaping hole at the moment and should definitely be the priority.

With adding four draft choices and Green, Brooks and Williams, I don't see where there will be much chance of any of the free agents returning except Gillespie.

Restricted Free Agents - Collin Gillespie, TyTy Washington, Jalen Bridges
Unrestricted Free Agents - Tyus Thomas, Bol Bol, Mason Plumlee, Monte Morris, Damion Lee

At this point we really need a legit PF who ideally can shoot. We just don't have any size that can shoot. Wouldn't be comfortable relying on Dunn at this point. Fleming or Dixon would be ideal. Penda and Raynaud could be there as well.

Remind me of the problem with Flemming? I don't understand why he made it to the 2nd round.

Not great at creating offense, maybe played against lower comp in the A-10, a bit of a tweener at the 4/5.

I just think he's not a super athlete and didn't play against great comp. He's a 4 for sure but can play a small ball 5. Great wingspan, shot looks decent. I think they are after him, Theiro or Penda.

Fleming or Penda at 36 and then maybe trade up if needed for Tyrese Procter and call it a draft.

Really hoping for Flemming but not sure if he is there at 36, I think it’s silly he fell this far. If we can’t get him, I’d be extremely happy with Adou Thiero.

Yep. Gambo said the Suns expect for Gillespie to have a big role next year, safe to assume he’s coming back as our main back up pg.
