Place: Thomas And Mack Center, Las Vegas, NV
Broadcast: NBATV, NBA Summer League Live (

Len will sit out this one based on what we heard on the broadcast yesterday. It will be a lot different without our big man in the middle. I hope to see Booker hit a couple threes today.
Go Summer Suns!!!

Archie has definitely gotten stronger. He looks thicker in the shoulders.

Goodwin is looking pretty good in the second half. He has a pair of 3 pointers and lots of hustle plays and he's living on the free throw line.

We are missing the inside presence of Len today. We really don't have an inside player.

Hail Mary at the end of the quarter by Houston and it goes in. That sucks. We're down by 7 going into the 4th.

Warren is so natural, it would be shame if he does not get enough minutes.

Not really impressed with any of the big men out there with Len sitting this one out.
Goodwin and Warren looked pretty good again, but other than that nobody looks like they're NBA-caliber (Booker's going to take a while).

Goodwin & Warren - 15/25 FG, 60.0%
Everybody else - 17/43 FG, 39.5%

I'm not seeing anyone on our Summer League roster other then guys already on the team becoming NBA players. Alec Brown was our starting center today and got a single rebound.
The best thing about this game was watching Archie play. He's looking improved but still needs to play within his game and slow things down a little. He had some missed shots and dumb turnovers that happened because he tried to rush things.
You can be quick without rushing and I think it's just going to take time. His most elite NBA skill is getting to the free throw line. His outside shot is looking more consistent and starting to go in. I don't think we should lose hope in him and I'd be thrilled if he could take that next step this year so we can justify holding onto him.

There are some things I saw from Archie that I really liked - the has built up his body (which was really needed), his shot looks to be improved, and he was able to get to the basket pretty much at will. Now knowing when to take those forays to the hoop are another matter.
Warren looks just about like I was expecting. He doesn't need to dominate the ball to score points, and he's got that nice offensive game from about 15' in.
Just going by what we've seen so far (which is very little) Booker is a year or two away from being being where he can contribute. Alec Brown is to limited to get his own shot or to impact the game at all if he's not making shots. The others on the roster else are playing for contracts in the D League or overseas.

EVERY three pointer was short for Booker. He needs to practice shooting 1000 NBA threes a day.

Archie looked better this game. His stroke is coming along. He hit two threes. He still tries to do too much with the ball. He needs to work on his handles. He had a couple nice passes so that is starting to come along.

One issue with him is that he makes some lazy passes at the top of the key that get stolen. I'm not sure I like his game face. The broadcasters were chalking it up to intensity but I'm not so sure. He might be too cool out there.

I think that kind of thing is always overstated. Who cares what kind of faces someone makes when they play?
Getting to the line is a very underrated NBA skill. Archie does it well. There's some obvious flaws to his game, but I still don't get how people think this guy should be a finished product at 20 (!) years old.
I also don't get how some (you know who you are) prefer 22 year old Alec Brown as a prospect to Goodwin.
