The Suns, losers of 11 straight, have a chance to pick up a win on Thursday in the Tank-a=thon against the Nets.
Last Week's Games
vs. Houston LOSS 116-100
vs. San Antonio LOSS 118-111
This Week's Games
Monday, February 22nd @ Los Angeles Clippers 10:30PM EST
Thursday, February 25th vs. Brooklyn 9:00PM EST

Dwight Buycks just signed in the D-League. Wouldn't mind seeing him in a Suns uniform at some point this season whenever they let McRae or Pressey go.

I'm liking Pressey a lot. Cool to hear his dad is Paul Pressey. Brings back memories from my youth. I'm sure Bobster and Lazarus remember him.

Older Pressey and Johnny Johnson of the Sonics were Swiss-army knife guys who could handle the ball, play defense and grab a rebound for you. Rodney McCray with the Rockets was in the same category.

I really liked what Brian Windhorst said about Sarver and the state of the Suns on Arizona Sports today. Free agents want to know about the stability of ownership and the organization. Lots and lots of truth.

The way the Suns have handled players and player departures under the Sarver regime has always been such a disaster. The communication appears to be non-existent. Just more typical head in the sand type stuff that will probably never change under Sarver.

"Whatever I do is Championship level! I won't listen to the haters. I don't need that kind of negativity in my life. We'll be back in the playoffs next year!" - Sarver said 6 years in a row...

My impression of that article was that Windhorst didn't have a clue what the eff he was talking about.

I find that is generally the case for all non-Cavaliers news and insight coming from him. And even some of the Cavs stuff is often wrong.

My general take-away from that article is, it is very easy to spin something in one direction when you put your mind to it. Honestly this article didn't state anything that was outright false, so it might pass the eye-test as far as journalistic integrity goes, but the minor omissions are so blatant that it really makes me doubt pretty much every other opinion piece I read on the internet.

I listened to Earl Watson's appearance on AZSport on Tuesday and once again came away impressed. He challenged Len before the SA game where he went off. You could also see the aggression against Jordan who is one of the best big man defenders in the league. Loved Len's move where he dunked on Jordan with authority for the and one.
Watson also layed into the team after the Clippers game and talked about holding the players accountable. He doesn't care that they played the night before and traveled to LA. They have to give the same consistent effort every night and they're going to be held accountable if they don't.

What do you think holding players accountable means?

We picked up John Jenkins off waivers. 6-4 SG drafted by Atlanta, played extremely well for the Mavs in preseason and then never left the bench in the regular season. Nice pickup tho and I like that we've been bringing in some recent draftees to take a look at. Carlisle spoke really highly of him a few days ago.

I advocated signing him this offseason and was actually going to post we should bring him in when he cleared waivers, so I'm big fan of the move. He can play.

I hope it means things like:
A) During film sessions you point out the blown plays by defenders
B) Develop a way to have those missed plays reinforced (could be drills, could be extended film study, could be better review of scouting reports, etc), especially for the repeat offenders
C) Have an accountability system in place where there are detriments to repeated poor performance (which could include less in-game playing time)
D) Eventually get to the point where most of the players on the court can see the missed rotations/missed scouting report/etc and immediately hold each other accountable in front of everyone and his/her brother at the arena and on TV, so that it doesn't keep happening.

Sucks when the PR department of organizations do things like that. It isn't really fair to the player, which it winds up reflecting much more poorly on than the team.
