Re: Re-evaluating the Suns

Check out this Evan Sidery article from 4 years ago. Brooks has always been a capable if highly inefficient scorer.

Re: Re-evaluating the Suns

I don't know if someone posted this before but this link was a response to another tweet someone else posted here. Almost all the responses to this are brutal. How things have changed in only 18 months and I bet all those haters wish he was on their team now. https://x.com/ShamsCharania/status ...

Re: Re-evaluating the Suns

Does Gillespie want a 4 year deal? He probably only wants a 2 year deal then see if he can get even bigger contract before 30. I think he’d take the guaranteed money…he hasn’t made anything. Maybe you give him a player option on year 4 A 4 year contract is a risk for the Suns, too. Even so, the upsi ...

Re: Re-evaluating the Suns

Yes, good article on this, I had options wrong. If the Suns can lock him down for 4 years, will be a foundation piece.. if he can keep it up.

I said star not superstar but Dragic at his peak, was a star. Him becoming Dragic, would be great.
Looking at his skills set, I think it is entirely possible. I do think his ceiling is even higher, like a Nash-Manu hybrid on offense and a Stockton on defense. But hard ceiling to reach.

Re: Re-evaluating the Suns

How you keep CG - give him a 4 year contract for as much as the Suns can give him with a player option after year 1, at which point the Suns can give him a bigger deal.

Re: Game Day: Suns (12-9) @ Lakers (15-4), Mon 12/1/25

Is it crazy to think that Gillespie might actually develop into a star? He’s looks fucking great. I don't think it's crazy at all. Nash like career trajectory? I remember Linsanity, let's pump the brakes. Maybe he becomes Dragic 2.0 though. Dragic is a reasonable outcome and he made an ASG and an A ...

Re: Re-evaluating the Suns

I think that Allen or Royce (not both) become trade assets if Green comes back and can fit in. I agree with you on everything except this. Yes things could change once Green is healthy and I suspect they will to an extent but Allen especially has been the perfect fit on this team. And without ...

Nobody wants to reevaluate the real hero, the head coach?
I'm not sure what kind of voodoo magic Ott is working but if he isn't in the conversation for COY something is wrong.
Hell yeah. I'll take more of that MSU nepotism, thank you.

Re: Re-evaluating the Suns

I agree with Split on Collin, he's great but once teams focus on him he's not going to be putting up 20 ppg... but he's a stable force and super dependable with his outside shot, just hope whatever 10-15 mil salary we throw at him this year will be enough to keep him, and that he's willing to sign ...

Brooks has been great for us but it’s hard for me not to look at him and wonder if you can multiple 1st for him. Having a fantastic year. I look at him and wonder how can we get a legit upgrade at power forward to pair with him and become a contender :D I was shocked in Macau to see how close he l ...

Re-evaluating the Suns

We've had a month to evaluate this team and the players, and I thought this might be a good time to check in regarding their future potential: PG: Collin Gillespie . Potentially a borderline all-star . A Nash-Ginobili hybrid on offense, a Stockton on defense. If he can stay healthy, I think he'll ...

Re: Game Day: Suns (12-7) @ Thunder (18-1), Fri 11/28/25

Usually, I'm skeptical of players that look good for a few games and fade away...but I think Gillespie is for real. Like the next very good to great PG coming out of nowhere. His skills are real, his heart is real, and his intellect is real. I think he'll make it to an all-star game or two at some ...

Re: Game Day: Suns (12-7) @ Thunder (18-1), Fri 11/28/25

No other way to put it -- the shorthanded Suns were just a tiny bit short of punking a 19-1 team on its home court. Usually, SGA doesn't even play in the 4th. The Suns were making them sweat in the final minute. Had Mr. Booker shown up to the party earlier, the Suns would have won it. But I was glad ...

Re: Game Day: Suns (12-7) @ Thunder (18-1), Fri 11/28/25

Gotta say, this Suns team has had about 7-8 moments when they could have hung their heads and given up, and they absolutely fucking will not. They keep clawing their way back and have had it within 3-4 points a few times here in the 4th. Love their toughness and perseverance. This bodes really ...

Re: Game Day: Suns (12-7) @ Thunder (18-1), Fri 11/28/25

Suns are hanging in there. I don't think many (any?) of us thought Gillespie and Williams would be this good this year. And the contributions from Goodwin and Bouyea are just gravy. After seeing that preseason game in Macau, I figured that Gillespie would be really good, but he's looking like the ...

Re: Game Day: Suns (12-7) @ Thunder (18-1), Fri 11/28/25

OKC up 13, Suns call timeout. Feels like the game is slipping away here in the 3rd. OKC is historically good. They finished last year with the best scoring differential in NBA history, and they're even better this year apparently. They play the way I have always wanted the Suns to play. And ...

Who the heck is scouting for the Suns recently? Bouyea is looking like a keeper. Like a Barbosa with shorter arms but more court sense.
